Why does Diana, a high damage dealer, have a 10 second shield?

We just had a game where she was being attacked by a very fed Jinx, a Nunu, a LB, and a fed Yorick. How in the hell does ANY champion not die in that situation? I have seen team comps like that melt a Sion or Mundo in 4 seconds. Come on Riot, either gut her shield or gut her damage.

shes a bruiser mage, subclass called diver. Can you link to the game you talked about? The only game with a Diana in it on your match history was one where she ended 40-2.
