@Riot; Can We Talk About Solo Queue?

Originally, Solo Queue was confirmed with the release of Dynamic Queue, and even had a date set.

Recently, it was revealed that Riot is "working on" (paraphrase) Solo Queue because it presents problems when paired with Dynamic Queue. I guess it's assumed that Solo Queue is less popular because of some biased survey that made participants think "Dynamic Queue" was the new Draft Pick...

Regardless, I'd like to help you guys out here.

We need to know the truth. If you guys are genuinely trying to work out the issues and THEN decide whether or not to release Solo Queue, then let us know. The way it was worded, however, sounded like an indirect way of saying that Solo Queue wasn't coming.

If this is the case, let us know. Many of us are holding out for Solo Queue, so if it isn't coming, then just make it public so those who were only here for Solo ranked can stop wasting time and leave.

The longer you draw it out, the harder it's going to be on you guys if you still end up cancelling it. It looks like bad customer service to your players, and if everyone finds out you had never planned on releasing Solo Queue and LIED, you'll lose even more players that were fine with Dynamic.

If you plan on releasing it, however, then let us know. If you don't, people feel like they're wasting time waiting for something that may never come, and they'll just give up eventually.

We're all people Riot, and most of us don't appreciate waiting months for something we were promised in weeks. So, I think I speak for most of us when I say we'd appreciate a clear answer on the status of Solo Queue.

They can not release SQ with DQ. The two cannot coexist. Since DQ looks like it is staying SQ won't be released.

But, let me pose a question to you or anyone who can answer.

Why, exactly, does RIOT prefer Dynamic over Solo? Even if the players prefer Solo, Riot has a clear bias toward Dynamic for some reason. It doesn't seem effective monetarily, because going against the majority of the playerbase results in negative feedback and less RP bought.

You're right about Solo and Dynamic probably not being able to exist together. However, this could be a good reason to implement both. Queue times would increase, so those with no preference would gravitate toward whichever queue has lower queue times. The one with lower queue times will be the one with more usage, and thusly it'll be easy to tell which queue is in more demand by releasing Solo simultaneously for even just a couple months.

So it's just another ploy for money, is what I'm gathering. The happiness of a portion of the playerbase is what Riot deems to be an acceptable price... okay.

is always about money.

But riot likely gonna lose over this, will more premades really compensate for the quitting solos?

And what about the dynamic "casualization" of the competitive side? Pros are unappy and they are a huge marketing for this game.

I don't know why you were down-voted. I would like some honestly from Riot. Thing is they learned a lot from what they did to Dominion. They saw less of a player base, so they updated it less, so less people played it, etc. So they scrapped it.

You think Rito Lyte is going to let that happen? This is exactly what they were talking about when they were worried about wait times and such because it will snowball one way or the other and they don't want to let their investment go to waste. Now they have the choice of creating solo queue and possibly having to scrap dynamic queue because of a vicious cycle of people not wanting to wait, OR piss off a rather large portion of the player base and be labeled as dishonest by not delivering true solo queue. Franky I think they should have done a better job of data collecting and surveys before they devoted so many resources to this. If they did, there wouldn't been such a reaction to this. So whoever made the call to put in dynamic queue like they did. They should probably have some of their autonomy and authority taken away.

I agree completely. Dynamic Queue was flawed on release because in the surveys to determine if Dynamic would be appreciated, many confused Dynamic with the new Draft Pick.
