Heckin Support3 votesIt's actually not easy to get 40% cdr on mages without runes. Cooldown items aren't in the best spot for mages right now, which is why a lot of mid mages rush the sp00ky ghosts.

Not always. There are situations where you need to use MR runes, for example, against LeBlanc, which is a dangerous opponent to face in lane if you are not prepared to survive against her.
I personally like to go Frost Queens + Morello + Ionian Boots on Lux to reach the max 40% CDR and have as much mana regeneration as Mundo has health regeneration, allowing me to spam Lux's spells. The lack of magic penetration from Sorcerer's Shoes is compensated by purchasing a Void Staff.

Leblanc has a similar play rate but doesn't win nearly as much. Ahri and Zed probably help account for that.

welcome to high elo where these are rushed by at least 2/5 3/5 of the champions on the enemy team and people actually arent bronzies and understand that if they keep track of lux CD she is a free divable kill and dont just build 6 damage items
