Why Does QSS Build into an AD Item but not an AP item?

It seems strange to me that ADC's get to build out of QSS, but if an AP Carry needs to build QSS, they can't upgrade it into anything useful.

And before anyone says that such an item would make unviable, that's like saying 's existence makes unviable, which is clearly not true. AP carries will and should favor building other items for CDR, AP, and generally more useful offensive stats.

So why not give an AP equivalent? (Like it'd be expensive and not give the best stats so as to be balanced).

Zhonya's is the AP variant. Ap champs rely more on cooldowns than auto attacking. So the zhonya's essentially gives them a 2.5 second cooldown reduction in a fight. That being said AD champs rely more on auto attacking and do not need something that takes them away from the fight for a short time. QSS allows for AD champs to avoid CC (like zhonya's) and continue attacking.

thers still a massiv difference form removeing cc and a stasis. A QSS saves you from a flash WW ult, zhonyas does shit. A QSS saves you from a ashe arrow, a zhonyas allows to dodge it, but locks you down 2.5 sec, so unless you have your team around as backup, your screwed anyway. Also, in the league of today, the sterotypic ad=dps, ap=burst isn't really a thing anymore, we have dps-mages like cassio or Azir and ap-onhit carrys like teemo or kayle that loose out on alot damage in the stasis, and we have ad-casters like Pant or Talon that can profit alot from a stasis, buying time for crucial cds. Also, you somtimes just would prefer Mr over armor ontop of a defensive active, or the other way around for ad-champs.

To be honest, AD champions typically need it more. There aren't as many Melee APs as there are Melee ADs. Ranged champions in general would usually prefer to have Banshee's veil instead, which is also available to APs. And like Mat7itan said, Zhonya's. Besides, APs already have better defensive itemization.

Indeed how ever this is off topic . I get hourglass on varus over getting ga because it's a variant sorta but mostly because he can utilize it well . same as a adc kog and adc mf . there ap scaling are just to good to ignore where it actually helps them tremendously
