When I start boots or cloth as Akali I usually go through most of my potions and sometimes will buy refillable potion. With Doran's Shield I get to start with 2 pots and use only 1 or 2 during the whole game. The enemy laner actually heals you by trading with you. If you play a champ that has a weak early game you should start this regardless of who you are tbh.

The issue is the 20 health scales very little. The only thing it scales with is the user's resistances. Meanwhile, Cloth Armor, for example, scales with the user's health, the user's healing, and the enemy's damage, while not setting the user behind on gold.
CyberBalt2 votesI disagree. Corrupting potion is still as good or better for plenty of weak early game laners. I think the current doran's shield is perfect as is.
Akali is SO HOT1 votesIf you have high mana costs/don't know how to manage your mana, then Corrupting potion is a good choice, but if you are in a lane where you are going to be making a lot of trades or are going to be getting poked a lot, then Doran's shield is definitely the way to go.

Penns1 votesOver 10s actually. It doesnt do much more than dblade against all ins but if you take dmg youre gonna heal 3.2 hp per sec for the next 10 seconds with both passives which is.. a ton lol.
Akali is SO HOT1 votesIt's over 10 seconds. Factor in the health regen you get from buying it and natural health regen, and 80 extra health early game, and you won't be getting poked out any time soon. Plus you have an easier time csing under turret with the extra on hit damage it gives you to minions. If you have any kind of sustain on top of that you are almost impossible to push out of lane.

Noxian Pride1 votesMy only problem with current Doran's shield is it takes Teemo's strongest point (levels 1-3) and makes surviving them a joke. It's indirectly a pretty huge nerf to him.
