Maybe three seasons ago, when armor mattered. Why do you think the aforementioned Randuin's GOT a crit reduction passive? Because the armor component is garbage now and because crit is virtually uncounterable.

Ranged champions have an inherently stronger early game than melee. This will never not be true. The early game power of ADCs has always intentionally been understated. The truth is, comparing stats in a vacuum is dumb. The truth is, there isn't a melee character in the game, who starting off at an ADC's max range, can run up and kill them before they're killed at level 1.
And while you say "Of course, that's dumb, no one would do that" keep in mind that last season an entirely new class of champions was released who do EXACTLY that (Juggernauts), and if Mordekaiser is truly a juggernaut, than they are expected to do so with LOWER base stats than those supposedly weak early game ADCs.

....reread my post, I never said any of those things. I said TF and Annie were outliers for mages. I never compared them to ADCs, simply said that all ADCs, late game, do essentially the same thing.
Mages are infinitely more varied responsibility wise than ADCs.

No, this is constructive. Crit items are simply too powerful. The item overhaul shoehorned too many items for ADC role.
Why does Hurricane have crit? Why does Phantom Dancer have such a powerful defensive passive? Why does Essence Reaver give so much fucking CDR?
It's not just crit chance as a stat that's dumb. It's also the items that it happens to be on. This isn't bitching. This is pointing out obvious problems to the people who abuse them.

Oh, yes, yes. I remember them. I remember Feral Flare meta, Cinderhulk meta, League of Warmogs, League of Black Cleavers, waveclear meta, etc.
But you know what? The only role, the only champs, the only aspect of this game that has never waned has been the botlane ADC. Since before I started playing in season 2, there has always been an insatiable need for that role, and entire metas have risen and fallen with the intent of countering them, but to no avail. Here we are, season 6, when ADCs, despite 6 seasons of meta domination, now have unparalleled power. It's disgusting.

Except that 2000 is still totally in the range of late game ADCs, and 100 isn't even that much to reduce.

It's in range of a Draven IE crit with 450AD and Q spinning. The only other in that range is Jhin's 4th shot. It's impossible for most other ADCs to reduce armor by 100 and also build enough AD and crit chance to get there.
