I was wondering how the champion select works in terms of placing people. Is it completely randomized who gets to ban and who gets to have first pick? Is it based on elo? Does it change if you have a 5-man group? The only reason I'm asking is that it seems like I'm 1st pick 80% of the games I play with friends, but when I play solo it seems more balanced. Anyone have ideas?

which i while i always face palm at the idoits that said "pick order" random is random.

Mysticman891 votesOnce upon a time it was based on MMR (leagues version of elo) but that was changed to be random.
They also changed it to be that if a member of a premade was randomly picked first, then the owner would get first pick, but that may no longer apply with dynamic queue (as the reasoning was to let the owner do all the banning rather than it being about first pick-ness I believe).

I've never actually seen anything official about it, just what players think.
