Cinderhulk if you don’t have a tank or the enemy team is squishy. Bloodrazor if you have a tank or two or the enemy team has an HP stacking tank.
Most low elo players mistake Jax as an initiator and tank and usually pick an AD carry top or mage support. Jax is a skirmisher that only becomes tanky if you use his ult or time his E to lower damage.
He is by no means a tank, but he’s built tanky to survive short skirmishes and build his DPS up.
TL;DR: Cinderhulk if you’re playing without a tank and need to look out for #1, bloodrazor if you have a decent tank and have room to kill folks. You’re not Sion and you shouldn’t play like him.
Jax is all about jumping onto one guy 1 at a time and beating him into the ground before moving on to the next. He’s not there to tank or peel for his team. Play him like Master Yi or Fiora.
I always thought Jax was a diver and not a skirmisher. His q at Max rank doesn't have a 2 second CD like
(at max fury)
(if he gets a takedown).
