Daily reminder to nerf Thresh

I'm not even going to bother debating this. We all know he's broken. Please nerf him soon so we don't have to deal with this sh*t anymore.

I would like to hear the reasons why you feel this way.

I have already explained why numerous times, but I'll do it again just for you. He is too strong for several reasons. First of all, no other support can engage from as far away as Thresh can. He gets 1100 range on his hook. Not even Blitzcrank can engage from that far away (his pull only has 900 range). Second, he gets too many free stats for the souls he collects, and there's no limit to the number of souls he can get. It's honestly pretty dumb that he can get so much armor and damage with almost no gold income. Finally, it's extremely difficult to punish him, due to his ability to engage very safely (once again 1100 range hooks), and even if you somehow manage to catch him he still has his flay and the box to slow you down.

These are probably the three biggest things that make him too strong, but he also has extremely good poke in lane, due to him having RANGED auto attacks (and yet for reason he's still able to proc relic shield). He also isn't punished for hitting the wrong target with his 'q' (like a tank for instance), since he doesn't have to pull himself to them.

The numbers support this. He has the highest win rate among supports AND the highest play rate. It's time to nerf Thresh.

I appreciate you taking the time to post this. Had I thought about it, I would have looked at some other posts you may have done.

I have already explained why numerous times, but I'll do it again just for you. He is too strong for several reasons. >First of all, no other support can engage from as far away as Thresh can. He gets 1100 range on his hook. Not even >Blitzcrank can engage from that far away (his pull only has 900 range).

This is somewhat reasonable, but you also have to take into consideration the width of the spell. Thresh's hook has more range in vertical reach. Blitz and Naut have more width with their hooks. With that being said, I imagine Blitz has a slightly larger reach than Naut. This is both good and bad depending on what you want to hit. The other thing is Thresh either has to go engage, or just cause a sputter step (admittedly can hurt) to the enemy.

Second, he gets too many free stats for the souls he collects, and there's no limit to the number of souls he can >get. It's honestly pretty dumb that he can get so much armor and damage with almost no gold income.

Bard can get infinite stacks with his chimes, as can Sion, Kindred, Veiger, Nasus and Cho'Gath. They get free stats too. I mean, I guess it isn't armor but it can be health or spike in damage. Thresh builds his slower. Veigar gets instant power (whole points) compared to Thresh's partial. ( Decimal [I could be mixing it up with Seeker's Armguard though.]).

Finally, it's extremely difficult to punish him, due to his ability to engage very safely (once again 1100 range hooks), >and even if you somehow manage to catch him he still has his flay and the box to slow you down.

If he happens to hook and doesn't take it, there is time where he can't do much except slowly walk. Flaying and Box both require him to pause and perform it. Would be equally as hard to catch a Janna with Talisman of Ascension who positions her q's to delay your movement to avoid, or knock up.

These are probably the three biggest things that make him too strong, but he also has extremely good poke in lane, due >to him having RANGED auto attacks (and yet for reason he's still able to proc relic shield). He also isn't >punished for hitting the wrong target with his 'q' (like a tank for instance), since he doesn't have to pull >himself to them.

Yes, him being ranged is annoying if you are a melee support, no he doesn't get the execution benefit of relic shield (he has to last hit to proc it, just like any other ranged champion.), and yes he is in a manner of speaking. His hook goes on CD which is now one less engage tool for the enemy.

The numbers support this. He has the highest win rate among supports AND the highest play rate. It's time to nerf >Thresh.

Your numbers betray you. Sion Support has the highest win rate for support. He does have the highest play rate though. That is also based on Plat and up numbers. Win rate In Bronze, #1 is Brand support. Silver, Brand again. Gold, Sona Plat, Sona again (Thresh is #2) Plat+ (masters/challenger) Sion is #1. (Thresh is #2 again.)

Pick rate: Thresh is most picked at all tiers except Bronze (That is Blitzcrank.)
