LP idea for series games
This is just a random observation and has probably been talked about before, but is there any way to improve how LP gain/loss works in a series?
For instance, currently, if you lose one, win one, and lose the last one, you'll be around roughly 80 LP. The initial loss lowers your LP, the win brings it back to around 100, and the second loss brings you down about 20 and ends your series.
However, if you win first and lose the next two, you'll sit somewhere around 60 LP. The initial win does nothing for you to "buffer" the LP you could potentially lose. Therefore, the next two losses will count towards that 100, dropping you to 60-70 LP.
Do you think it would be reasonable to have LP in a series "buffer" some LP if you win a game? Perhaps to get into a series it only takes 100 LP, but at each division you can cap at 110-115 LP? In other words, if you have 99 LP and win, it will put you at 100 like it currently does, but if you win a game at that point, you'll have some form of small buffer.
Or, another idea would be a physical win/loss buffer, in which it does not add/subtract any LP at all until after the series ends, then calculates LP based on net losses in series. In other words, two losses immediately would be a net two losses, so take away two games' worth of LP, but a win loss loss would be weighted equally to a loss win loss at a net loss of one.
If yes, why, and if no, why not? I'm just as curious as you all and just trying to understand why the current system stands as is.
