I proceeded to laugh, and stomp his face in all game.

EDIT: This is a quote from the previous team builder I was in "Amumu is weak, and unreliable?" I forgot having a 2 second AOE stun was unreliable. Time to play something 1,000x better like Udyr.

EDIT: In no way shape or form do I think Amumu is OP, but he's extremely strong, don't doubt it a single bit, especially if you can use his ENTIRE kit (because everyone seems to forget the passive.)

Technically his ult is a modified snare, not a stun.

It's actually funny because Amumu, along with other Jungle tanks like Rammus, have actually maintained extraordinarily solid win rates despite their lack of popularity or the general populous' opinion that tank junglers were weak at the time.

Amumu's ult is an entangle, not a snare. Targets also can't attack while entangled.

Most team fighting tank junglers have always had a strong win rate. They just weren't ever really in the meta.

Rammus's win rate is high because he's picked against AD heavy teams. For the same reason, Galio's win rate is also huge. He's a counterpick champion.

Amumu is ridiculous I have a 66% win rate with amumu and building AP is awesome with him since he scales off the HP bonus from cinder plus liandry's/rylai's(does over 10% hp per second plus his ult Q and e would do over 600 damage(without his w). It's almost like building a nuke, a big explosion then after effects melting them down.

Not to really say he is weak, just. Boring? Predictable?

I mainly play jungle tanks, but I can't get into Amumu because of how narrow tracked his kit is. You Q at someone, everyone in the game knows what you are about to ult. Everyone knows what you are trying to do when you are running after someone, it's just lame having everyone know what you can do from how basic your kit is.

And unlike other tanks, his impact after the initial Q + Ult ends, whether he gets a good ult off or not, his impact in the team fights takes a nose dive while other tanks can continue with more damage, CC or peel.

I kind of think Amumu needs not a rework but a gameplay update akin to something like Gangplank honestly.

Depends on how you build amumu. His w can deal quite a bit of damage if you build him more damage. He also has one of the best initiates in the game hence why he is so solid. Other champs like sejuani are a bit better simply because they don't require blue as much and they don't require committing to engage.

He doesn't have one of the best initiates, his is fine, but easily shadowed by far better ones.

Amumu has to make more sacrifice with his items if he wants damage on par with Nautilus, Sej, or Sion.

But again, his usefulness falls flat because of how predictable he is, making his initiation even worse then it is. It has high potential if done well, but that's rare as it is.

I would say it is one of the best because of how long range bandage toss is and how quickly his ult goes off. Yes you are correct about basically everything but his initiation is still one of the best.

Until he misses a bandage toss that's easy to dodge, there is also a brief delay when he does land his Q giving the rest of the team plenty of time to move away.

A better AOE ult for a tank would be Sej or Malphite.

Amumu is powerful in the way that Devourer is powerful. Both require a ton of time to get going, but once they do, they cannot be stopped. Except Amumu can eventually get killed once you are literally standing in their back line while your entire team is attacking the one enemy who got past you.

Back in Season 2 or 3 when I was Bronze I was basicaly forced to ban Amumu every game since my team would just feed or troll if the enemy team got him.

Amumu is a perfectly good jungler in all tiers of solo-q because it takes an organized team invading to get Amumu behind so he is less useful. Especially with multiple steals of Amumu's blue buff he becomes a lot less scary.

However, if he's left alone to farm and hit 6 in a timely manner Amumu is probably one of the best junglers at ganking bot lane and more or less guaranteeing a pair of kills for his team.

Amumu is one of the best jungler for soloQ imo hands down. His ganks are good straight at lvl 3, his damage is great, his passive is great, his ultimate is awesome, his clear speed is awesome, the only problem about Mumu is that he's kinda mana hungry early game and also he can be easily ounterjungled by pretty much everyone. Apart from that, hes strong as concrete.

End of season 2, and even in worlds he was the jungler. Early season three before his round of ult radius nerfs he was also the jungler. Mostly paired with Miss Fortune. That was a depressingly long time ago.
