I still don't understand how autofill nourishes a competitive ranked environment

I have yet to hear of someone to give me a good reason that will make me think differently, how do you justify autofilling someone to a position they don't play, against a person that mains that role? For the sake of not waiting 3-4 minutes longer in queue.

Position Select (not Auto-fill) nourishes a competitive Ranked environment. Because you can focus on a couple Position, and you don't have to play everything (let's be honest, the only real auto-fill is support).

Auto-fill is only a necessity to make Position Select work, not a goal in itself. And without Auto-fill, queues wouldn't be 3-4 minutes longer, more like 20-30 minutes.

Because at Riot Games we didn't want to remove dynamic queue and bring back solo queue without some sort of draw back. So we gave you autofill!

Tell you what, if you dont want autofill we can go back to the old pick order system and just ditch role selection right? No? Oh, so you want to keep role selection but get rid of autofil which is the only thing that allows it to operate? Care to elaborate on how you make it work?

Because it gets games off the ground.

3-4 minutes

It's more like 10-30. Consider how a queue actually works and how unpopular support is.

You should know a little about every role anyways, at least enough to pick a passive champion, not feed, and then depend on your teammates for once.
