Singed has one of the worst laning experiences ever, he builds up darkseals just to keep up with other champs, by the time you have a corrupting potion and 3-4 dark seals and boots tier 1 people are usually finishing up their first item and boots. He needed a new passive to go with his kit. His old passive was garbage.

his old passive got him a lot of extra hp when you itemized for it. there is no lack of item 3010 items right now to build on it.

he could easy stack up 500 to 700 health from the passive dependent on how much mana you grab on your items. which made him synergize exceptionally well with items like item 3025 or item 3110

and definitely the new version of item 3800

since the tank update with the increased resistances on items, those extra hp gained a lot of worth. his itemization was probably his main issue, and it was difficult to really capitalize on it due to how he deals damage with his poison trail and needs to stack a certain amount of ap, but it was far from weak or garbage.

that extra health shouldnt be undervalued imo.

Yeah the hp he gains when you itemized for it isn't bad but, when you went that route full tank, your poison isn't going to do much and your litterly a fling bot / a crappy support.

I think that like many others that he should be more of a AP Bruiser, and not just some full tank builds, nothing in his kit gives him mitigation of damage besides his ult or the W he puts down so people can't reach him.

I just don't see tank Singed getting anywhere even if he does put play the enemy champ. Nothing else is in his kit to help mitigate damage for his play style to run into an enemy and stay ahead of him or her.

Just my opinion, at the end of the day play him how you will.

thats why thy tried to increase his base damage by putting % health damage on his fling, and i think they increased the base damage on his poison too with the same patch? might be mistaken.

despite being described as unique playstile, ive always seen singed as a warden tbh. a rylais alone makes him incredibly disruptive, and he can itemize into builds that make him incredibly tanky.

most actual tanks arent more than cc/peel bots with relativly mediocre base damage, which "tank singed" would exactly be.

they gave him a couple extra tools to play as a disruptive peel oriented tank by allowing him to combo his fling with his glue, to snare opponents thrown into it.

i guess to really count as a warden, his fling and glue alone are too much weaksauce, and his playstile revolves more around split pushing.

its like hes "almost a tank, but not quite there". if they wanted him to be one, they could have easily done it just by putting his fling on a low cooldown.
