You know what's nice about picking a Mage into any AD champion?

Absolutely nothing.

One thing I want for mages is to be able to spellvamp efficiently.... or at least be able to make lifesteal useless on Ad champion. Because seeing a lucian lifesteal a raptor camp after I did my full combos makes me vomit.

Oh, you can heal from being next to dead without going back? That's... good... for you... not so much for me...

I didn't really didn't care to explain why ADs' are superior to Mids' since there is already so many posts about it, but it looks like you did it for me.

(Not ADCs')

Yeah its pretty bad at the moment. Mid lane is not fun at all.

Idk my galio/malz/lux/anivia/zil dominate vs ad mids

My ziggs and zyra I don't play for winning mid and just to farm into teamfights.

Not everything is about winning lane or dominating your opponent sometimes you just gotta play smart and bide your time and use your knowledge to still scale better into later on.

Although AP itemization could use a 100-300g price drop on several items the champs themselves aren't an issue

We all know that dominating lane is not the only option, but when you get dominated because AD Assassins are strong right now, you're probably not going to have a great time trying to come back.

As far as Galio goes, he's an oddball in the role to begin with. Zilean is another outlier. Anivia and Lux have easy on demand cc at close range, so it makes sense that they would do well. Malz is just a pub stomp champ at low elo because his ult suppresses you, and any good malz will make sure that it is going to kill you if it connects before they use it, and they're going to make sure that no one else will intervene.

As far as the price drop goes, I highly agree. I mean, BF sword only costs 1300 now. That's pretty much the same price as large rod, instead of 250 more gold. It moves up an AD assassin's power spike, so you probably won't be able to build the right kind of defensive items in time, while also keeping the damage on. And if you're a Veigar main like me, it is not a fun time for you, in this meta.

Malz is wrong, everyone assumes he only has ulti but even in higher elo malz is powerful because of the harassive damage he has which even shreds tanks and his heavy pick potential and utility he provides to a team to keep enemies where they want, not just 1 enemy but an entire team. Malz isn't just about ulti and "pub stomp at lower elo".

Ok, in order:

  1. I know he had more than his ult. It's just what makes him hard to deal with. I said that any good malz is going to use it to finish you off with it and make sure that it will kill you while there's no one around. How can you do that without outtrading/harass, and good vision?

  2. Shreds tanks? Kinda, I guess. I mean, I never said his ult is his only form of damage, and if he can get his malefic visions and by effect voidlings to attack a tank it can be pretty bad for them in the mid game. His AoE Damage spell is OK, but to actually shred people with it you have to make sure they stand still.

  3. Pick potential and utility? Again, I guess. I mean, his ult is ridiculous in solo queue, mainly because no one can coordinate their cc; it's the same thing that makes Warwick so hard to deal with. His silence is an AoE, but at higher levels of play most teams don't stand clustered together when they know that Malz is on the other team. Other than his ult, he actually has no other hard cc.

I was just observing that Malz would do well in this meta because his ult can also be used defensively under tower, as well as that he's a strong pick in solo queue in general. Pub stomp champion in bronze? Most certainly. Nowhere did I say that, 1) he's useless everywhere else but low elo, 2) all he can do is dominate lane and then win the game, and 3) that his ult is the only thing that makes him viable; I just didn't mention anything else for brevity's sake.

I don't agree that a good malz would only finish someone off with ulti it's a great engager for a teamfight as well to make sure your team catches a priority target. Yes it keeps malz in place but holding someone important in place for your team can make the difference between a won or lost teamfight. Aside from that, while missing a few points, agreeable.

Veigar item 3070

Although, Lulu is actually a surprisingly good pick for mid right now. She's one of those mages that can poke hard no matter what stage of the game it is, has the ability to cs well with her passive, and she also counters all of the obnoxious AD mids... at least, the assassins. This also applies to ap assassins like Ekko and Fizz. You'd be surprised how quickly a tower dive turns into Lulu stomping someone because they forgot that they just popped into melee range... against a mage that has a knockup that works in the immediate vicinity of any allied champion. Under the tower. And then she polymorphs you just to spite you. Glitterlances? Might as well, but they'll already be fucked at this point.
