I recently played Yorick, in Draft Nemesis

And for the first time I noticed the big shovel, the hunchback, the lantern above, he was really cool, I liked him

Don't make another serious bad-ass looking muscular guy... He's very Taric-like, or Graves like, or Ryze, geezus christ they all look the same. The GIF tells very little ofc but from first glance I didn't enjoy his new design at all.

There's only one champion that shouldn't be reworked into a beefcake. And that's Urgot.

This is a Yorick design for a mainstream audience. Which sadly means kicking actual fans of the original character square in the bollocks.

Usually, when Riot reworks a champion in a full VGU, they try to take that champion's core identity and preserve it. From there, they try to modernize their kit, make it healthier, and make it so the opponents can meaningfully interact with the champion. Look at Poppy pre-rework. Poppy was all point and clicky with an ult impossible to balance. Now, her Q has meaningful counterplay, her W is something more than a stat boost and is much more balanceable than her old passive was. Her E stayed the same and her ult was just broken. Now her ult gives Poppy and her opponents a way to interact in a fun and healthy way. Just one example. With that being said, I would expect the lore of gameplay of this Yorick rework to be much healthier and much more in depth than, "Hi I'm a gravedigger who summons three different ghouls that are an absolute pain to deal with."

He did have his League Judgement (Which are practically identical to those little stories they tag onto the end of all the new champion lores) as well as an article in the Journal of Justice leading up to his release, although like most champions from back then beyond that there wasn't much exploration into his character. There were still implications though.

I would expect there to be more exploration into his character. When they rework a champion, they look to enhance and moderize their "fantasy" , rather than creating a whole new one.

I'm not saying that (Seriously though WHAT is that hitbox) but I absolutely hate laning against this guy. You have a ghoul that gives him AD and MS, making it so you can't really win a trade with him. This would be fine, lane bullies exist, but have you seen his other Ghoul? The one that slows you? So basically, he has two ghouls that will give him an MS buff and apply a slow debuff to you. So if you get even an inch too close to the minion wave for his liking, he's going to throw his pokemon at you. They will then do a ton of damage to you not really offer any meaningful window for you to trade with him. Oh? What's that? You managed to trade with him and actually won? Well good for you, now Yorick can HEAL ALL OF THAT DAMAGE you dealt to him via his Omen of Famine. So you can't out trade him and you can't really outsustain him, leading to a champion that is all around unfun for me to play against.

as someone who's ACTUALLY played him (mastery 5 on him and I majorly jungled him):

Ghoul slow is non-existent - it really is. You need item 3116 to even notice a difference until you level it up Ghoul heal needs item 3065 and Grasp to be any sort of significant heal. Ghoul MS really is the only thing keeping him from being as slow as dismounted Kled because, HE'S SLOW AS SHIT AND HAS NOTHING BUT HIS W AND Q FOR ANY PEEL His ult is completely cheesy and never actually worthwhile because, guess what, you get kited, and all of the sudden your dive is useless. He has no place other than split pushing and being a nuisance. Guess who does that better? Nasus Aatrox (insert any champ with triforce here)

Maybe, but it's still annoying for me to have to fight him, and then get chased down by three of his cronies.

I'm talking solely about his graphic design bruh :P

The designs work great fro new players blind picking their way to lvl 30. But as a slightly older league player... This yorick kind of looks debuffed. I liked the undeadness of original yorick (Alas in my humble opinion younger audiences deserve characters that don't fit the "this is whats cool and in style" mold.). It gave his character a flair much like trundles did (I only rock traditional skin trundle, heartbroken over the rework stillTrundle ). Looking towards the future of yorick, I am afraid of seeing his character reborn for a chance at spotlight item 3026 (heh see what I did there? Seriously though I'm pro green skin). The cape mechanics do look good however and I forsee a more permanent manipulation of yoricks gouls maybe (seeing all three run and leep from background to foreground{{summoner:2}} )? If yorick must be brought to light fair skin and deathly deprived of what makes his character unique, I will still love him for who he used to be and try to love him for who he will be. Either Way, keep up the good work.

Seems to be the trend I guess. Just wait for Warwick VGU

With the time he was waiting in respawn, I don't wonder why he bought item 3026 ahhh ... sad pwns :c

I trust riot with that, they usually come up with cool stuff.

I was really just talking about his looks... it went from an ugly ass face to a... hot one? :p dont fit

New Yorick looks gorgeous. The Shadow Isles deserves some man candy. And now I will totally be shipping Yorick pounding Taric with his "shovel."
