Time for 1-2-1 lanes?

Lugg··2 votes·566 views

With the addition of the Rift Herald, is it time now that mid lane becomes the two player lane? Having a support mid allows control over both Herald and Dragon.

Plus, with the new masteries, most ADC's are now strong enough to solo their lane. This really opens it up for you to go mage or ADC mid. So the strategy becomes even more important.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Hmm interesting thought. It'd also be easier to ward if two people went mid lane, harder to gank mid as well. Solo side lanes could bring duel teles for optimal map control. Solo side lanes are also harder to gank than a solo mid lane.

I'll definitely be giving this a try the next time I have five willing people on. Throw me an add if you wanna join us.

i agree, if the ward slave goes mid with someone they can keep it safe and since all we have are pinks and trinkets a solo bot and top can just use those

Yeah, you could have a traditional top, a mage and support mid, and Graves bot (since he can face an ADC and supp bot by himself right now).

Or how about this: Quinn mid (Those roams lvl 6 would be insane) with either a roaming support to gank with quinn (ali, bard, blitz, thresh, etc) or an ap mage support (Annie, Veigar, vel, brand etc) that can free farm while Quinn roams. Then you can have a mage that can easily 2v1 bot (Ahri, Galio, Karma, Morg, Ziggs, Zilean etc) traditional top, and tank jungle.

I considered it, but your two junglers would lose out on too much gold. In most cases, it would really hamper both of them. Plus, if you went against the 1-2-1, one of them would be stuck mid anyway. Otherwise you give up mid tower pretty quick and control over the center of the map. This would allow the 2 mids to roam at will. Good luck winning that scenario with two junglers.

Your idea isn't bad, it just isn't as good as mine.
