You cannot poke him down until he is low enough and has to retreat because of his bullshit free passive shield.

You cannot outpush him when he can just EW the wave and have it all gone in 3.5 seconds.

You cannot cleanse his ult to escape when you are being engaged on.

You cannot rely on the malzahar being incompetent/making mistakes when his champion virtually requires 0 thought and his kit is incredibly forgiving.

He is going to perma-push the wave without interacting with you and wait until his jungler comes, then he is going to press R on you (flash if needed) and you will die. This will happen over and over again until your team surrenders at 24 minutes or they push down your nexus at 27 minutes.

Simple.

its like giving pantheon free wave clear and barely any room for counterplay AND THEN leaving his passive shield to block the first attack.

it makes no sense in a 1v1 situation.

pretty much if you pick a melee champion 90% of the time you are screwed. go a long range poke champion such as Orianna or Xerath when against Malzahar

If he is a fp, there are options. I use brand or Vladimir against him. If he is a second pick , then at least you didn't get hard countered by an assassin. I have a separate pool for first pick champs where I try to look at team comp.

Why does he have that shield passive? It just makes him more unhealthy.

I remember before he got reworked he was starting to get some LCK play. Without that shield. Back then he had huge dmg. Better days I say. I think everyone old malz players included preferred it that way. Now I just consider current malz players I see freelo riders.

You don't seem to understand that the first poke removes Malzahar's passive. That passive can NOT come back unless he goes 30 seconds without taking any champion damage. Any damage from champions resets that timer. Just like a Banshee's Veil. Name 1 Mid Laner, hell, name 1 champion who's primary form of poke is on a 30 second CD. There isn't one. As long as you've read Malz's passive at some point, you know the counter-play. He drops E on the wave, stand on the other side of the wave. Keep minions between yourself and the E'd minion, or just 3" (on my screen) of space between yourself and the affected minion. You don't take any damage from Malzahar. When he walks up to wave clear, remove his passive. Wait for your CD and hit him again. It's that easy if you use half your brain. He is not immune forever. Anyone that can locate more than 1 key on their keyboard can remove his immunity. So all but 1 of your arguments are invalid already. The last argument you made, Malphite isn't a Mid, may have been true when you posted. But as of 4/25/18, AP Malphite is buffed and scary again. Literally kills 3 people pushing R 1 time. Good ratios on Q & E. He is now either AP Mid or Tank Top. My work here is done.

and yes Malzahar is a champion that turns mid lane into a farm fest you can't kill him he can't kill you unless flash r muh skill enemy jungler shows up.

the sad part of this is even if you know you are a better player then him. you can't kill him. if it was any other champion you would have killed him a couple times

When he E Ws the wave cast any aoe spell on his voidlings it will kill them all instantly and it will slow his clear down by allot. Any form of cc that will silence or move him will stop his ult during his 3 second channel but your gonna have to rely on your team for that one. Ziggs shits on him because he can DPS from far away and use his w to knock him out of his ult if he ults your team. Malzahars WR is 50% or very close to it actually. If you played him a bit you would probably understand why he is only OP in cordinated play (something you wont see in solo que) people seem to forget that if malz is supressing someone hes also supressing himself which leaves him open to anyone that feels like it to come up and smack his face into the dirt. In terms of 1v1s and in lane though besides the above your options are get item 3140 or just dont 1v1 him cause his ult is basically auto win 1v1 unless they are super behind or diddint cast any spells before it.

Kill the voidlings, and his waveclear drops. If he uses q and e to clear, he will run out of mana. You cannot cleanse his ult, period. Not just when you are engaged upon, you can't do it at all. You can QSS is however, so buy an early QSS. Simple.

Lux counters him.. because you can hit him with your E have the slow proc then shield then detonate it and still get the damage off.

Malzahar shield will deactivate .2 seconds after taking damage OR taking crown control.. Lux's E has a slow field.. so wait the .2 second before you detonate...

if the Lux player lost BECAUSE OF HIS SHIELD then the Lux player cant play her properly. because the entire reason u pick lux into him is becuase you can use the aoe slow on your E to remove the shield b4 you detonate it...

I think they should allow you to cleanse or QSS out of his ults suppression but it can stay damaging you. It's odd that for example Skarner you can get out of it but it does little to no damage so you just end up wasting the thing if they can escape it while Malzahar ult suppresses you at no chance of escape at range and does dps. This is favoritism. I'm not asking for them to make Skarner 's ult not have counter play o no that'd bust him forever and get him permabanned i'm asking for you to escape mal's suppression but he can still tether the dmg.
