Out of all the reworks throughout the past year, you made everyone mechanically more difficult

Except for Sona Who probably needed that treatment the most

She still does the exact same thing she did pre-rework, spam half her skillset without thinking about it too much, and poke with Q

Would have been really nice ( and we wanted it) to see her have a skill ceiling what isn't only dedicated to how well you position

To be fair, she's great for learning how to position for new players.

Taught me how to counter all-in champions.

Yeah I agree. But Sona also has a unique skill roof to use her effectively.

I can see a few possible changes, but I kind of like how Sona teaches the whole positioning thing effectively, something that mage players against assassins could use (not implying they can't, but sometimes going back to the basics really helps!).

so what would make her "mechanically more difficult" ? having 50 jumps?

You would probably need a type of invoker setup where she gets access to certain skills based on song orders. Maybe something that rewards her for sticking to a similar play patterns but that feels like a khazix thing where we just create false choices. Sona doesnt really have anything mechanically challenging to build on so it's not like riot can mutliply by 0 and pull out something. Also what would be the point of giving sona a rework similar to the other ones? Most of them have just been nerfs. As great as it would be for sona to go through the whole Take some Lose some thing the dedicated sona QQer's would go on for months about it if she lost so much as 2 damage on Q and just ignore any and all buffs + positives as per usual.

well you make it sound like everyone just wants to cry, but be honest about it: lately, riot hasnt been very wise on their design front

Lets actually be honest people have been complaining since season 3. Probably earlier than that but I wasnt really paying much attention back then. Riot will never appease the community because no matter what they do someone is going to be unhappy. This is how perfect imbalance works especially when they are trying to balance for multiple elos. In my opinion they need to just balance around pro play and let everyone else figure out what to actually do. To many champions get wrecked due to being pubstompers when any champion works until a certain point.

For the actual thread topic at hand People have been crying about this champion for ages. I have actually seen more complaints about her than champions with 45% winrate or less who are having real problems. Most of the Sona complaints can be summarized as "She isnt broken anymore and we dont like that." Of course she isnt getting changes when that's all people are looking for. Most of the games champions arent interesting or mechanically challenging. I would much rather have my champion be strong and kinda boring than weak but interesting imo Then people just complain about me picking them to no end.

That Invoker playstyle suggestion would be kinda interesting on Sona. The last three tunes played by her could empower her ult in different ways.

Base ult deals 50/100/150 damage and stuns the enemy for 0.25 seconds.

Each Q increases ult damage by 75/100/125 Each W makes the enemies take 7/10/13% more damage from your team for 4 seconds Each E increases the stun duration by 0.5/0.75/1 seconds.

It wouldn't obviously be as complex as Invoker. I doubt we will ever have as complex champion as him.

Sona is a very mechanically intensive champion (im a girl gamer btw), youre just jealous because youre not skilled enough to play her. typical male haha

Knowing exactly when TO W and when to use power chord for more than just poking to secure kills/protect your team is a lot more complex than it looks. A lot of non-Sona players don't even realize that there are different riders on her W and E power chords.
