Grinding a new account to 30. Apparently I need to show its possible as many players are dissatisfied with me constantly telling people that Supports make impact on the game, its more then picking some hypercarry to climb, and personal impact is a consistent factor for any given player.
So, Who exactly do you guys think are so team reliant they lack any agency on match outcomes?
Death by Glamour1 votesGenerally enchanters bar nami. If your adc is terrible there is not much you can do as say janna or soraka. Nami atleast has cc so can do what several tank supports do with bad adcs, buy mobis and roam.

Kai Guy1 votesI already did yuumi on this account. Climbed in flex silver to gold as a solo. Some impossible games but only took 80 ish matches to go up 3-4 divisions. And I had prior games so my k variable was reduced. Also was still learning her kit.

Kai Guy1 votesI had to get good at detatching to bodyblock alot of skillshots to artificially pump my adcs Hp up then trigger passive and sheild them for extra hp. The entire climb it was a relief if I got to have good front line players. Jax kayne mundo and uyders for example gave me more windows for impact.
AlienPrimate2 votesTaric is actually better the lower elo you are because of his ultimate. People don't know how to deal with it in low elo. The higher you go the faster people disengage when they see it.
Kai Guy1 votesPlaying him today and man he Brutal in level 14 games. Not just the R. Teammates and enemy's often run in very predictable lines so nailing E Is easy. Folks dive for kills so constantly refreshing passive and Q is easy.

CurS1VE1 votesTk and Braum are the 2 champs you are looking for, not enchanters at all.
Braum can be good the higher you get but if you are trying to climb from a low elo then it's absolutely a horrid pick.
TK is similar where it is good higher elo but it's basically useless low elo
The biggest things here are that there are limited ways you contribute to a team that aren't upfront or easy to execute.
I climbed from B3 with Zyra and Zilean (a lil galio too) but generally speaking the lower the elo the more you need to rely on carry supports and less about weird defensive tank supports and Braum and TK are essentially the only 2 Tank supports that are really Defensive (limited offensive capabilities)
In lower elo you have way less consistent players who are less consistent with carrying so the idea of using something that is lane dominate as a support is always good, Braum CAN be lane dominate if he has a good ADC to follow up but if not then it's gonna be a long day. TK may as well build full tank after he gets his support item cause most of the support items on him are really lackluster and his team fight capability is so bad.
If you want to show off or something then start in iron with those 2 and see how difficult it is then i'd love to watch that cause honestly i don't think you'll win very many games and i could see a 20% WR in your future easily
Tahminatrix 1 votesFrom my personal experience, tahm kench in low elo is the tanky equivalent of an ap support.
Except instead of bursting the entire enemy team you are focusing one person in every group fight to make sure they cant do anything.
Really good if your team is almost as capable as the enemy team but doesn`t know how to deal with a specific champion / are feeding that champion, like pantheon.

Only ACTUAL champions that on design were supports that are okish: 
(Even Nami is pretty team reliant that she can't carry a team if you got monkeys.)

The problem with supporting is a lot of adcs dont know how to attack move, use wards, use map, farm properly after lane etc etc. So your constantly pushed in sidelanes due to it.
IF YOU are looking to carry games I would highly recommend playing mage "supports" 
The reason for this is after lane. You can take all the CS you want. Period. Since no one else is in low elo (including gold.)
But if your someone that is wanting to hard carry in the way of "haha my team can't die and it seems you guys are dying" (Takes a while.)
Need a tank? 
(Be careful with the catfish. Been nerfed so much its really hard to play him now.) (Pretty tanky if you can gather souls.)
The real problem is, support as a role realize SO HEAVILY on your team not to be clicking on the wrong player to kill etc.
Also MASSIVE note: If you're going to play a melee tank support ( Like Alistar for instance. 
DO NOT buy this item. 
ALWAYS this item. Coin is DOUBLE or more in terms of how fast you obtain gold. After lane you'll never obtain gold ever again with Relic. DO NOT buy the item. If your a mage you can buy 
but make sure to only buy it if your confident you're gonna win lane.)
Also another tip: Support is the carry of botlane. Not the adc. You're the one that has to do all the work. Its very annoying as well. So if your not getting kills and such and they are. The support is probably the problem. Anyhow, some games it will be impossible to win your lane due to the match up some are easy lanes. Hope some of this helps! [slayer-jinx-catface]
