I've seen more sympathy for Karthus than any hate for the assassin's yet. I'm curious to see them in action, it certainly looks more engaging than it used to be.

I think most of us mages are looking at Zed and thinking "well, at least he won't want to ult me any more" and calling it a win.

I know I complained when they nerfed Sion because of Cinderhulk (which was fine) and then nerfed Cinderhulk anyway. It was like, why didn't you just nerf cinderhulk?

I personally love everything they're doing with the assassin rework even as a mage main except one thing. Edge of Night is going to offer way too much. As much AD and magic resist as the other best items but with a spell shield that lasts 10 seconds long and only has a 30 second cd. I get that it has to channel for 1.5 seconds (which you just do while moving or chasing before going in) but 10 seconds means there's absolutely no way to counter it and 30 seconds means it will be up during every engage.

Not too worried though - it'll be the feral flare of junglers. They'll gutter a few assassins and then nerf the item while never buffing the assassins that abused it. I mean sucks for those who play those champs but that's not me so I couldn't care less.

Its to make it a viable item to replace maw of malmortius, so chances are, its not gonna be nerfed too hard.

It makes assassins counter mages while not making assassins impossible for mages to kill

Actually it does make it pretty much impossible when you've got the ability to block a whole spell in a quick engage suddenly the annie, viktor, lux, anivia, xerath, syndra etc... can no longer kill you. Now if it was like sivir's or nocturne duration they could actually play around it even though they're already getting countered by the mr on the item but 10 seconds is a complete joke.

As far as your second comment on assassins being able to kill ADCs - they will actually be less reliable in doing so now mainly due to the fact that it will take them longer to deal the same damage output they were sued to. Considering most of them don't have stuns build into their combo, the ADC will lifesteal and the support will peel the assassin off.

A 10 sec spell shield is only useful for 1 spell. All you have to do is hit them with 1 spell and then stun/peel them off you.

As long as you don't blow your load the moment they engage on you, you should be fine

1 spell means different thing for different people. For Cass it's nothing - for someone like Annie who has her stun loaded up it means quite a bit. Also that's the whole point - assassins can't be peeled off of mages since they have mobility while the mages do not. Tell me if you're Annie up with your stun and Zed ults you after having charged up edge of night what exactly do you do? You can Q and then ult and E but you'll die and he will not even if the zed misses a skill or two.

How exactly is he going to kill you if he misses spells?

If you haven't noticed, the assassin items are changing.

Lethality isn't as strong as current flat pen early on

Youmuus no longer will give att spd

Dusk blade no longer has a mini zed ult

Etc.

So pray tell me, how are these guys gonna kill you if they misplay in the slightest?
