Sorry to one up, but this should give dodging privilege. You say you can't do a certain role that well, but if they want you to you need a specific champion. True story below.

"Guys, I can play all roles but I'm super bad at ADC. If you do want me to adc, please don't ban Caitlyn" Team leader proceeds to first ban Caitlyn Team proceeds to pick everything but ADC "Guys, I said I was a bad ADC, anyone willing to swap" ---silence---- "Alright...." Picks Jinx, second best adc Goes 2/6/1 in first 15 minutes "Report Jinx for feeding, she sucks" Me: "..." Goes 14/7/9 in next 15 minutes Still loses game because Idk how to be good adc.

You kind of could have avoided that on your own end though by simply learning the adc role to a decent degree.

It's not super complex and there are many guides out there that can teach you.

Also it's common knowledge that before entering ranked, usually, you want to be able to play the other roles since you can't just dodge every game where you don't get your main (unless don't want to climb since dodging promos=lose).

The admirable thing is you was upfront that way there was no surprise but you know flamers are going to flame an find a reason why its your fault why the game was a loss an why the other players also contributed to the loss. Unfortunately its easier to point fingers at others than it is to point fingers at oneself. So many people live by this its stupid.

The worst part is when they say that, you do give them mid, they do feed and ragequit, and then you look them up after the game, and they really were a smurf. I actually has a guy with like a 22-2 record ragequit because he died twice 1v1 early in lane.

I've got a smurf. It's level 11, and consists of champs I'm not sure fit my actual play style. Doesnt mean I can play ADC any better than I can on this account.

If you're smurfing, that implies that you're really good. Being really good at league means that you can play any role fairly well. Otherwise your're just not very good at the game and just want to pick on noobs, which is pathetic. If you think that you're exempt from having to play a role you don't want because you're a smurf, you're entitled, plain and simple.

Speaking as someone who is gold and sometimes plays with a buddy who is B5, and has seen other smurfs, the ones smurfing never actually say this. They just take a role because they know that they can do well wherever. Anyone who says "give me ______, smurf" is a liar who only knows how to play that one role and are mediocre at best

If you're smurfing, you can do some roles at a lower level competently. A Diamond 1 smurf mid main could probably handle supporting at Bronze/Silver elo. Maybe not platinum, but it really depends.

But you can't just let someone get exactly what they want because they said that they're smurfing without any other substance, otherwise that gives other people an incentive to lie about smurfing so they get their role.

There are two kinds of smurfs. The ones who want a particular position so they can stroke their ego by stacking up a high KDA against unsuspecting new players,

and

the ones who type "Fill" into the champ-select chat box and try to help their teammates play better.

Free dodge? No. But, mute. And if you called that lane first, take that lane. Their self-esteem is not your responsibility.
