I can't believe Riot nerfed Wukong

Seriously, which Silver from the balance team got smashed by the Monkey King ?

I remember way back in Season 4 when pros started playing Wukong jungle, and he immediately got gutted.

That was hilarious, because I distinctly remember Riot saying they will try to nerf champions regarding the role in which they are OP , and try not to affect the other role (kinda what happened with Lulu mid etc), but somehow Riot completely forgot about Wukong TOP, who was already not so great, but played more often top than jungle (back then).

Now this latest nerf came out of NOWHERE. Wukong is still one of the weakest, riskiest picks in both the jungle and top lane.

I've not seen him in pro play, or doing so well in solo Q, except when played by the people who main him.

So where was the issue? When I look at the current roster of stupidly toxic champions , I think Wukong was very, very fair with a ton of counters despite his 'problematic' stealth.

Such a shame, really fun champion gutted into oblivion because he isn't popular enough to be Irelia or Akali

The problem with Wukong is his invisibility and ulti combo are broken and gives the ADC zero chance to survive. Other assssins in the game have some sort of ‘warning’ they are near (eve needs to W, Kayn has the wall mark, etc...).

He’d be fine if there was a way to know that he was invis and near you.

you dont need W with eve if you want to OS.

Wukong's stealth lasts very briefly, so proper warding and playing around the fact that he exists goes a long way.

He's unbelievably risky champion, and that risk should pay off.

No sustain, no proper wave clear, no escape, and I haven't seen him be "problematic" in any elo, so what was the issue here?

No sustain, high mana costs means there are a ton of counter options against him top (anything slightly tanky with some sustain) No sustain, average clear/duel potential, no cc before 6 means he's easily counterjungled.

I understand why riot felt the need to nerf the invis/dash/burst combo, but they should've adressed the invis by lowering the duration to 1s from instead of nerfing the burst. All they have done now is make the feed/starve curve worse in wukongs favour instead of adressing the actual issue.

His early game weakness is startlingly evident. Level 1 Q isnt even enough to get a caster minion after one shot when pressed under turret. His mana pool and mana costs are amongst the highest overall.
