A Way to make Traditional Supports more fun and fair!

Why not find a way to actually give supports with heals and shields a skill investment in using those abilities. I think the problem with buff supports is they use their point and click heals and shields to make lanes non-intractable, while their ADC just free pokes and farms safely. The issue is there isn't a skill investment in point and click heals and shields, where as most offensive champions are being switching more into the skill-shot world. I think what needs to happen is Buff supports should actually have to land their abilities on their allies, OR HAVE SOME sort of skillshot type deal for their heals and shields. Like for example maybe you have to land a skillshot on the enemy to get a charge of your heal that you can point and click on your ally. Making heals and shields have some sort of skill-shot or skill based requirement to use their heal and shield allows them to be buffed in other areas which will potentially actually make them more fun to play. Because lets be real, when you have to use skill to position yourself to land an ability on an enemy, it's never fun when a support can just point and click revert that effect and disregard that skill on their ally for no reason, with no skill investment.

The new support Rakan has to hit an enemy with a skill shot in order to gain a heal and then walk next to his ally to give them that heal lol. so done and done. We cant have all champs like this though, other champions have different things that involve skill. Soraka for example may not need skill in order to heal her ally, but she does use her own hp to do it, and in order to get HP back she has to hit enemies with Q.

The big problem would be, is that if you made it so buff supports had to land a skill shot on an ally it would be the same as a huge nerf to buff supports and you would have to compensate that for higher reward for your risk, which would mean at high levels of play they would be OP and at low levels of play they are weak, as they are now they are easy to balance across the board.

Literally that's what I'm saying... Making them have skillshots would actually ALLOW for them to be buffed and feel impactful and make the Support role more fun.

And what im saying is that would make all supports either too strong at high levels of play or too weak at low levels of play and it would leave no enchanter supports that where balanced at ALL levels of play. Soraka is good from bronze to master there is no rank at which she is bad because she is easy to play. If we made everything about her skill based then she would get buffed and people at high ranks would find her to be too OP while people at low ranks would struggle with her, it wouldnt be fun it would be another case of Ryze where high rank people destroy games with him and low rank people cant do anything with him. It doesnt ALLOW them to be buffed all it does is create a champion that CANT be buff because its a champ with such a huge gap between people that can use them and people that cant.

Or make a support item that holds a control ward.

Let's really be real, other than Soraka who spends health as a trade-off for powerful heals, most heals aren't that powerful and every shield I can think of is wiped out with a single auto attack from an enemy ADC or fighter. Shields are really only good against a mostly caster team to lower burst potential. Against sustained damage they are honestly pretty garbage and a CC ability lowers the damage taken far more than a shield does. An Alistar knocking up an enemy ADC gives more damage mitigation than a Janna shield because the time that they are CC'd is longer than it would take them to break the shield.

If you want to make traditional supports more fun, attribute any bonus damage from the support on the team to the support. Yorick's old ultimate would attribute any damage that the ulted person did to him, so ulting the 20/2 Vayne before she dies just means he got free true damage attributed to his damage dealt to champions when she gets those silver bolt procs.

So if Janna puts a shield on their ADC with Censer, attribute the bonus damage the ADC does during that shield to Janna. I'm sure the code knows what AD is from Janna or Censer vs from the ADC, so shouldn't be a problem to put that under the right person's "Damage Dealt To Champions" number or maybe add an extra column like bonus damage so that enchanters actually see the bonuses they provided to their team vs the immediate gratification that an engage support or disengage support sees. Or, to make it easier, just attribute all the damage that ADC does during that shield to Janna.

As far as the shields and heals, they aren't strong. If you take Soraka and make it so she has to hit her Q before she can use her W period, then she better be healing for like 200 hp base on her W to counter act the nerf to her kit since you'd be taking away her identity basically.
