If riot are gonna go and add back a lot of the old items which were removed from the game, why not also go back and add in the removed champions from the game? Every major reworked champion, or now reverted, added into a single game mode as a different champion. That way you can actually put the two versions head to head, or side by side, and see how they've changed and still get to play both.

The problem with this is, that Ghostcrawler said in an interview with WIRED that Riot no longer has their old champions lying around anymore.

Then again, they did bring back old items for Nexus Blitz on a whim, so he might've been lying.

I mean items aren't that hard to recreate. They'd still have the images of the items, all they'd need are the item effects (which isn't that hard to tack on). Especially considering a lot of the old item assets are still in the game's files.

Recreating champions on the other hand, that's a whole different kettle of fish.
