You just highlighted all the problems with the game.
When I play a tank I am never ever tanky enough. Most... not all tanks but most... do not do enough damage even when not built as tanks to justify their low base HP. I am a tank for Heimerdinger's sake! My job is to disrupt, peel, engage, draw fire, and isolate opposing threats.
So ADCs build Crit and AS in almost cookie cutter item sets. Sure there are differences but very little creativity.
still dominates most champ builds even though years ago Rito WISELY removed it from the game.
APs stack AP to the sky.
There is no variety in builds because the only way for players to do their jobs is to use cookie cutter builds that reflect little creativity or reactivity to the opposition because they know tanks don't do enough damage and cant survive a full combo. All we ever hear are the tunnel visioned moron Assassin players scream that tanks are OP and their classes are not doing their job. Um... one shotting an ADC... okay I get it... taking a tanks health down 75% in one combo... how is a tank supposed to do their job if they have no security of the position? And Rito listens to the Assassin players because Assassins make exciting plays for the LCS. Exciting plays in the LCS increase viewership ratings, which increases advertising revenue.
Ever since the LCS circuit came about the game has not been about champion balance or creative building. I remember when Dodge was a stat... all ADC's stacked Phantom Dancers back in the day for the Crit, AS, and 90% Dodge. Same crap is happening now because there is no ROLE balance. And every day I read threads about bad tanks, bad supports that dont engage. Well there is a reason they dont. 50% chance of success for a 90% chance of death... FU you engage bruh.
I dont build
to be a nuke because it is a troll build that works well when the enemy is caught off guard, but it hurts my team when I cant do my job they way they NEED me to. If Tanks are going to stay as squishy as they are they need to get better damage scaling, because currently we dont do as much as the troll builds say we do.
Ermagerd!
Oneshotted me! Well with a
build of course he will, but thats not his job. Either increase damage scaling on tanks so that we can join the damn party, or increase our base health by a lot, lower our damage scaling to compensate, and let us actually do what our teams need us to do. We are kind of supposed to run into the fray and survive... not die because everyone unloaded on us and my team won the team fight only because the enemy's abilities were on cooldown.
That is plain and simply a tunnel-visioned play strategy. The opposing teams choice was made because the tank has no other choice and they know it. If they know it will take more than a concerted effort to take the tank down, they might play with more strategy and save their CDs for the other roles engaging shortly after, which also gives the defending team a chance to survive if they ignore the tank.
An addendum. Dont get me wrong when I play a support tank like
it feels good to get a kill sometimes. Other times it feels like the enemy got away from my ADC, Mid, or Jung and I am just there cleaning up.
However yes it feels good to get kills as a tank, but that is not my job. If I played an extended match and I went 0 / 5 / 45 with
I honestly feel that is a successful score. Somehow in my mind I equate 5 Assists equaling 1 Kill. It makes me feel good because I didn't have to finish anyone's job for them, my team is competent, and I was doing my job in securing kills for my team.
