So is getting mastery pretty much impossible at this point for anybody that isn't a veteran?

2 Tokens + 3250 BE = Mastery 6 Yorick . . .

The worst part is that Riot is just sort of acting like they're doing us a favor, and as I quote: "To simplify your league life, we've combined IP and blue essence into one currency."

P.S. I haven't even earned 3250 BE since the recent changes. I damn well do have the BE to purchase these overtly priced "gank me" targets but I'm saving it up to last until Riot calms down a little bit. Maybe after the wilderness changes Runescape made -shrugs-

Isnt it like same as before? You would need 2 mystery shards 1700 ip each to get enough blue essence for mastery

Is there a way to find out how many games I've played since the patch? I'm nearly lvl 33 and haven't amounted to the possibility of purchasing these yet - If I started a new account why exactly would I even bother until I was like 2-3 years into the game? (Unless you play like 8-9 hours a day anyways.) I've been playing for since like season 3 or something like that, and still don't own all of the champions - don't quite see why somebody would even bother.

Though, I got all of my mastery 7's without actually purchasing champion shards.

Effectively, it's the same cost. As @Archerno1 pointed out, it took 3400 IP (two mystery shards) on average to get enough BE for mastery 6/7. And you can still use shards for that champion.

It's the same cost, but the amount of BE you get from leveling up is much less than what you could get in Season 7.
