I disagree. It's a close matchup though. All you had to do was to bait out Darius' Q and then go for a trade. Which I did. And and I won my lane.

Darius Did beat Irelia and Riven, Yes Riven had potential to outplay him but thats the case with all her matchups. Darius,Garen and Renek were Rivens biggest counters.

Is this a joke? It does not even matter if darius gets a couple early kills, riven will just kite him once she has a little bit of cdr essentailly making the lane a "stalemate" until the jungler comes to gank, Riven can hop out if she is being ganked and riven can hop in if she has her jungler with her and YOU have no escape.

Yes, She can dash out of his pull or Q and has 3 additional activations of her q to do with as she pleases.

I don't think you understand how immobile melee champs go. You don't chase, you zone. If the person you're zoning wants what is in your area they have to enter your area, and when they enter your area they can't kite you.

Most importantly if the person you're zoning does not want to enter your area accept this, and allow them to continue to make the choice of life outside of gold and experience range. At least allow this until your zone fully covers their towers.

It's Riven, not Kallista, she can't kite you regardless of conventional rules.

Riven IS MOBILE. Darius is immobile. Riven CAN just disengage against darius.

Riven can be as mobile as she wants to be, the moment she enters the immobile zone she eats damage.

The whole thing is she eats damage and has to disengage. It's not about kills, it's about forcing her to respect you, and in order to actually have something worth respecting you have to use your own immobility to your advantage.

Freeze lane in front of your tower, farm up, and punish her whenever she enters your area. She doesn't have a permanent Yi Q, and she can't dash as often as Kallista, so unless you have the reaction time of a drunk squirrel you'll do more damage than she can absorb with her tiny early game shield, and she will be forced to disengage before she can out trade you.

Your kit is designed for area control in lane. You have access to the farm, and therefore items. It's your own fault if you don't use this to your advantage, as it's the way immobile champs have done things since mobility became prevalent.

The point i was trying to make is that darius does not counter riven. Even if he gets kills she can just disengage and free farm. When she has enough cdr she can go in and out of battle making the engagements short and in her favor. Even boxbox thinks that riven deals with the new darius well.

I understand that is your point, I've been saying that it is invalid ever since you made it.

Riven cannot free farm because Darius excels at zoning, and will punish Riven before she can disengage. By the time Riven has "enough cdr" Darius is tanky enough to not care, and will continue zoning and punishing Riven for entering his zone.

Have someone who is good at Darius show you this, since you're unwilling to take the words of myself and others on here for their worth.

EDIT: Here's a video by Stonewall008. It's an old Garen video, but it covers the same zoning points Darius uses.

I have been playing darius since I started league and have level 5 mastery with him as well as a good winrate in season 3, 4 and 5with him in ranked. I fully understood him then, and now. I KNOW HOW ZONING WORKS. You act like darius a bigger zone than he actually does. His zone is the extent of his pull, anything outside of that stands 0 risk, riven can get inside and outside of it. Now sure darius wins if riven just tries to fight him early. But any decent riven player would understand that if they have cdr they can outtrade him.

Old Darius this was not true. Old Darius outtraded Riven at all points. You could only fight him if he missed Q. Not Blocked Q, If he missed Q. Rivens strongest point against Darius would probably be level 5. Or If both had lowish health at 6. In my opinion Riven is stronger against him now than she was before

Except E her into him when he tries to Q (since it has such a huge delay), absorbing the damage and not giving him a stack, and proceed to quickly combo him before jumping away, baiting his pull, and then stunning/knocking him up, ensuring he takes more free damage.

Darius is shit in lane, lol.

New darius before the buffs in a skill matchup could lose if riven plays it right, old darius was a free win for darius no contest, after the buffs though i dunno, i have been raping rivens with new darius pretty consistently but they usually stay on my face for too long and then get rekt by the passive.

Darius has always been super effective against the likes of Riven, but yeah now he has an even easier time. However he's weak as all living shit when it comes to teamfighting and what-not, like the new Darius is horrendous in groups! So you can fuck a Riven up in lane for 20 mins but when it comes to teamfights you just won't be doing any damage and will typically find it extremely difficult to get 5 stacks on anything, while Riven can jump in with an AD scaling shield and hard cc your team cause for some reason hard cc on a snowbally high mobility champ is fair... :P

Im my Opinion new Darius is weaker against her. 3-6 she should have complete advantage. Changes to his kit hit his easy early game alot. However. once Darius starts getting Tanky She'll Lose
