I'm Diamond, playing Cass top. Enemy is Gold Jarvan.

He hasn't landed a single knock up on me. 100% miss rate. He's eating every Q I throw; I'm actually OOM from landing so many on him.

Yet, I'm almost 60 CS behind at 13 minutes. I can't get in range to CS, or he'll kill me. Every time he ults me, I need my ult and flash to escape, with ~15% health. I don't even have enough mana to kill him if he stands still.

There is literally no way to outplay him, or even survive in this lane. I can't even get to late game, because I can't enter the lane to CS. I can't roam, because I'm Cass.

How is this okay?

Of ALL people im surprised a diamond does not know cassios main source of damage is her twin fangs. He gets close to you you ulti him and twin fang him to death...seems simple to me. Also have no idea how you are down in cs. There MUST have been other factors going on you did not explain.

His level 6 burst with just Hexdrinker is almost 900 damage. As Cass with a Catalyst and masteries, my health is around 1150. After he ults and knocks up, I'm in his ring with ~300 health left. If he has ignite, I'm guaranteed dead. He can't be hit with ult during his ult's cast, either, so you have to move off of him before casting it.

And no, at level 6, with a Catalyst, I can cast about 2 Qs, 6 Es, and an ult before I'm completely OOM. That's not enough to kill him, let alone kill him before he kills me.

I'd have to agree and say there had to have been something else going on. Going OOM from full Cass cycles should leave him low enough that you can farm easier in lane =======> replenished mana.

How much of those E were used to kill minions, though? As far as I know, didn't the new Twin Fang restore the mana spent + extra mana? You could have throw an E to kill a minion and got extra mana to use on Jarvan (especially if you saved mana after the ulti)

Your math is way off friend. Jarvan has a maximum of 3 points into his dragons strike @level 6 Now lets say he hits with both his flag AND his dragons strike AND his ultimate. That would be about 515-550 damage. Now accounting for his passive that will not deal 300 damage (because of your suggested 900 damage). And also this is not factoring in your base resists. So he is actually dealing less (even though he has a little armor pen with Q) If you had Catalyst this also means you would have around 900 mana...and if each twin fang costs 45 you can cast about 15 and have mana left over for other skills. Now I am still not sure at all how you didn't safely farm under turret because if he does dive you, you just utli him under the turret... Now if there were other factors I would understand but what you are saying DOES NOT add up.

So she isn't viable in a lane she's not intended to be played in? Good!

What this thread did was show the whole problem with Riot's game balance philosophy... which does not make sense half the time.

Jarvan counters low range squishies, more at 11

You should really focus more on the cs than putting your focus on the pokings....

Except if I'm in range to CS, he's in range to knock me up or ult me.

And you do realize you're playing in a lane which is not meant for Cass, even poke-wise?

The Queen Viper1 votes

After the rework, Cass is meant to be played in top lane actually, just like Ryze back in the day... she cannot really compete in mid lane anymore.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Ryze was only because he has potential CC to lock down the enemy laner, or to counter-gank enemy jungler. And due to his mana ability ratios, he gets to build tanky while building damage.

I don't see much benefits of Cass being a top laner. Sure her pokes are seriously annoying, but her Q mobility isn't so dependable when it comes to being ganked, plus she is squishy as hell.

So what ? He's a melee. Also, you are ranged, how did you end up 60 cs behind if he can't hit you with Q?

He's eating every Q I throw; I'm actually OOM from landing so many on him.

Why not saving some mana for actually farming? If cass was able to bully J4 out of lane, she would be able to bully all other toplaners out of toplane.

Why are you playing cass top lane? jarvan can easy build against you... item 3065 +item 3156

let me git dis straight this guy has a 100% miss rate and ur telling me he's going to kill you.. wheres the logic in that?

Don't build item 3027.

There, problem solved.

For match-ups where I need to farm at a distance for safety, I usually put more points into W than Q. You lay down the W on nearest minion cluster, back off, wait a bit, then drop a Q and an E or two to finish it off. W is often easier to stack her passive with as well.

Not sure RoA is optimal on Cass because it delays her damage. I tend to prefer an early Guise with the Idol component of Morello's for mana, and get a Rylai's later.
