That his non-villain ult will be turned to physical damage instead of magic damage? At least his shred will prove its worth to the rest of his kit instead of just being added power for the sake of added power.

It's bad enough that tanks itemize a shitload of mr and garen can't itemize mr pen without looking retarded (), or the fact that ADCs, a prime target for the execution, build items like that make garen feel like total dogshit. And combined with all this, that the villain mechanic is wonky and sometimes you want or NEED to ult a target that isn't the goddamn villain (which happens quite a bit). Plus, with teams running multiple carries nowadays, the villain mechanic seems very dated anyways.

Look man we all know what RNG actually means, just cause you learned about this in your math class last week doesn't mean you have to brag. When someone refers to something in normal conversations as RNG when it obviously isn't they are just referring to the fact that they have no control over the situation. This is a bad idea. Even if you shred a squishy for 47.5% of their armor, they will still have more armor than magic resistance. Everyone has scaling armor, but only melee champs have scaling MR. Scared of Garen's R? Well, just snag item 1029 this bad boy for only 300 gold and watch how weak your R is going to feel pre-11. Furthermore, mix damage is harder to itemize against. Enemy spent 1300 gold on item 3155 ? Stop complaining and buy item 3751 for only 1100 gold.

item 3156 is a rather decent item on ADCs anyways. There is no ad equivalent. The best they have is steraks which is a shitty item. If garen's e gets a shred on top of garens synergy with cleaver, this will certainly be a better change.

I agree, making it physical damage will go even further in emphasizing Garen's identity as "kind of like a shittier version of Darius".

Yeah it would be a buff, as is what's on the PBE, but I can't help but find it amusing that Riot's proposed buff and new gameplay style (dude just stack on the front line if you can't reach the back line) really emphasize his identity as "shitty Darius".
