Vlad's hotfix won't fix his issues.

The majority of his failure comes from how clunky his kit is. Specifically his Q and W interactions.

Any time you'd get a rewarding empowered Q, you die, even if you get it off, before the particle gets to you.

If you try to Q, then W, W cancels the Q damage.

If you Q, wait for the damage, then W, you do not receive the heal.

If you W, then try to Q as you're coming out, you're left sitting there doing nothing for about half a second, finally Q, and after its .5 second delay, a healing particle comes out that takes another half second. I always seem to die before that particle gets to me. Always. No other champion outside of Taric and Nocturne have to wait this long for their kit to reward them to any significant degree.

Fix this junk up and Vlad will feel way better. If you keep buffing him until he feels usable, you'll find he's over-bearing. Please save yourself the trouble and just give Vlad some QoL changes now.

The hotfix will help with the imbalance between his sustain and his E cost, but that will primarily help his laning, not teamfighting where all of the mechanical issues above are emphasized and prevent even the hotfix from being a noticeable change for him.

Keep in mind, his Q screams to be used as a clutch save tool, but fails as such due to the aforementioned issues. This tells you that Q has problems outside of conventional balance numbers.

His normal Q is too useless His empowered Q is too strong

I agree on the W/Q interaction.

I agree, but without fixing fundamental problems in his kit, numerical buffs won't get him very far unless he becomes overbearing, in which case he gets nerfed and ends up in a poor state again anyway.

QoL changes should made first, IMO, as the issues they would fix prevent him from functioning above silver. After that look into balancing out Q/empowered Q and looking at Q/E health balance.

after only two days people are already crying he is a failure. And now that he is getting a buff from a hot fix people complain its not enough. I think part of the reason people hate vlad isn't just becasue he is a shitty designed champion, his player base has to have some stock in that as well.

That's because we actually want our beloved champion balanced and not a tank Fiora.

His player base is very dedicated to him. The Crimson Reaper has many followers. You should consider joining our ranks.

When I was learning this game, I spent months and months playing nothing but Vladimir.

I don't think he's a failure. I just know conventional buffs will not make him usable until he's over-bearing, which should not be the goal.

They need to remove the unintended inhibitors in his kit that are left over from his old design.

His Q is almost unusable for its clearly intended use due to the delay on both it and the healing particle. Unless that's fixed, Vlad will not be able to be pushed in the correct direction properly.

W needs to be fixed up as well, but Q is the main culprit of Vlad's current state. If I'm below half health (even if the fight is primarily over), its not worth continuing to commit to a teamfight because more often than not, you just die due to the massive delay before you're allowed to get your Q heal.

This. Today I was in normal with friends and I was against Illaoi. She literally insta-healed when hitting me with some of her skills; I was like waiting for Q particle to come up and: "What do I do? Wait for heal or W to avoid ult?" And then they added another heal on his ult. AND THIS ONE IS DELAYED TOO. You have good points mate. And while we're at it, I'd change a bit the numbers on Q and strong Q because normal Q heals for a negative amount ;_;

I'd be okay with the normal Q being so weak, since its every other Q that's empowered, if his rewards were reliable when you met their conditions. That Q delay+the particle delay makes it impossible to effectively utilize his tools. A lot of times you just bait yourself into dying. At this point its just 'deal the damage you can, these heals are just a bonus', because you cannot rely on them atm against a decent opponent.

I fought an Illaoi too, and you have to COMPLETELY out play her in order to win. Like the Riven/Irelia match-up amount of tiny advantage taking, but you're still fucked if you get touched, even if they're at 20% hp.

Illaoi should be one of Vlad's easiest match-ups.

Yeah, you can always just run away from her, but that doesn't lead to a lot of exp/gold from minions in most cases, especially since you cannot wave-clear efficiently now.
