Is it me, or has riot had a really strong AD fetish over the last few seasons.

They've been pushing hard against tanks in general, working to make them overall less and less viable. (Since apparently S5 was the worst thing in the world. Give me S5 over assassin meta...) So in general riot has tried to keep ad champions overall viable and they're done their best to keep some of them outright strong/op. (LC$ ) are some of the biggest offenders. Not purely op and usually not broken, but riot's desire to not let them slip from viability is pretty gross. The introduction of conqueror further made tanks useless in laning phase, which they already struggled beforehand.

yadda yadda yadda, etc, insert better argument. I honestly wanted to make a thread where I could make this joke.... "Why does riot need to have such a crazy AD (and true damage) fetish. Why can't they just have a foot fetish like normal people."

Actually before conqueror. A generalist tank with 5 games played on the champion could beat a OTP Bruiser main.

Just wanted to correct that little embellishment. I understand that tanks aren't in a good spot but let's maintain honesty in our discussions please

Look at the runes, all of them can be used by AD champions, but a lot of them are AD exclusive (the entire precision tree for instance, Hail of blades)

Says the entire precision tree is AD exclusive while theres literally a thread in game play about how Fleetfootwork Kassadin is over tunes, in part because it allows him to lane easier, get insane healing(because fleet has a 50% AP scaling), fantastic mana gen(presence of mind suddenly doesn't exist), and free tenacity(you know that one level that gives Tenacity, AS, or Lifesteal).

One single AP champion using Fleet (I don't even think Viktor uses it anymore) such diversity

Viktor does. TF, Teemo can as well and theres nothing barring any AP champions from using PTA.

Besides it was never a question of there only being a few; it was a question of it only being AD champions. Which it's not. Sorcery is, likewise, pretty AP heavy tree but I notice you aren't complaining about that.

Aery has been abused by nearly every AD toplaner ( Pantheon Jayce mostly), Comet is used by Camille Jhin (if they ever fix HoB, he'll probably be back to using it) Nimbus cloak feels like it has been designed for AD assassins (like seriously I'm gonna pick it on Velkoz Syndra Leblanc Ziggs omegalul) since you're forced to take Manaflow band on every mage, the Hexdrinker rune is also designed for AD midlaners mostly, Transcendence / Celerity can be used by everyone

Conqueror can't be used by AP champions because it only adds AD, not adaptative, PTA yeah Imma use my AA's with Velkoz , Lethal tempo yeah gonna take it on a mage

I have never seen comet used by Camille, even before the introduction of Conqueror. Jhin used comet if only because he also did not like any of the precision keystones.

Aery has literally been abused by everyone except for the class it was intended for, supports.

And conqueror also cant be used by ranged champions; what's your point? That it's an extremely exclusive and problematic rune that shouldn't have been introduced?

As for mages, you could take PTA on Orianna or TF; there are plenty of mages that can abuse with their AAs.
