people carrying in silver bragging about smurfing

so ive noticed in almost every ranked game in silver, theres someone getting insanely fed. i'd say im high silver range, and these people DO NOT play like silver.

to top it off, at the end of the game they're always bragging "i'm X smurf" usually claiming to be g1 or higher. every single game i see this.

why is this shit even allowed? why hasn't riot realized that ranked is so shit right now that people at high rank are smurfing just to ruin it for people are lower rank? i know when someone's full of shit about being a smurf, and i know when they're not. a good majority of these people are NOT full of shit. its planly evident how good they are from the start.

how's an honest silver like me supposed to climb when there's plat+ smurfs in my elo, getting fed off of me and my inexperienced team, and dashing away 15-20 lp per game?

Im an honest silver going 15/1 almost every game, and people call me a smurf. FeelsBadMan, when can I get a GJ in this game. People are always trying to make excuses for their loss/death. Also most of the people saying theyre smurfs, are just saying it. Look at the dudes recent matches, odds are they arent going to be good. And there isnt anyway to fix it, lets just say youre good at the game, and you get fed every game, now youre gonna get banned for being a smurf even though youre not. So take that off the list. If you want to fix the problem, find players and que with them, otherwise youre gonna have to get good.

hate to break it to you..

For a low diamond smurf you expect: in <20 games the smurf should be in gold.. <40 he should be in plat

For a challenger smurf you should expect: in < 15 games gold <30 plat <60 diamond

any person that is saying they are a smurf and over 20 games in a silver level .. they probably mid to low gold level... i dont know if one tier above is a smurf.. but really .. they are about the right level.

Problem is there are no incentives to climb this season so higher elo players are getting bored. Climbing more than gold currently means nothings thanks to the dynamic queue and once you reach low plat is pretty much impossible to climb on your own until you are close to diamond since groups are taking over.

This happens at all low levels/ lower ranks. It's even worse when golds/plats show up in level 10s games, yes matchmaking is broken to speed up queue times.

If you're good enough to climb, you will. You're almost as likely to get a smurf on your team as the enemy team is to get one on theirs. Also: most of these "smurfs" are decent players who have a good game and are just lying.

Why mention climbing this has nothing to do with that. He's complaining about smurfs and bad match making. Most people don't actually claim they are smurfs they just show it by wrecking everyone else

If he is playing ranked, the point is to climb. He clearly stated, "in almost every ranked game..." in the beginning of his post. And you don't have to be a smurf to wreck everyone else. He also pointed out that most of them brag after game, so, according to him, most people actually DO claim they're smurfs. I just went 19/5/5 in a ranked match, are you going to call me a smurf too because I'm having a good game?

u say if u are good enough u will climb... he knows that... in a normal system that riot says is there... but he is saying that they system is being broken, that it is not fair... that plats are playing in his bracket of silver... and hes not wrong....

u say u are as likely to get a smurf on his own team to win the game... he never mentions winning games... he just wants to play with same ranked people... not smurfs... not plats on his team or the enemy team... but the same ranked players as he is playing against... weird concept hu?

His topic is about smurfs, and I said something related to smurfs. It was relevant.

He's talking about how it's unfair and how it's so hard for silvers to climb with plat smurfs, but because It's almost as likely that one will be on your team, it should all even out in the end anyway. Maybe one game will feel terrible because they got the smurf. Maybe the next will be a stompfest because your team did. It doesn't actually have a huge impact because they're going to land on both sides eventually.

Yes, I understand what he wants: no smurfs. I also want that, but I'm saying that you just have to push through it to climb, because there's ALWAYS going to be people smurfing for some reason or other.

Another thing, he doesn't say the term, "winning games," but the word "climb" means gain LP and get to the next tier, which would require him to win games.

I'm not trying to say smurfing is good or a decent thing to do, but I AM saying that it's rare and doesn't affect your climb as much as you'd think. 9 times out of 10, that "smurf" is someone just boosting their own self esteem because they had a good team. It's the silent playmaker that doesn't even bother with chat all game that's usually a higher elo.

Also, in response to his post about some of them being plainly better, That is because silver has new level 30 players mixed in with veteran players who got placed very low and are climbing their way back up. This means the skill difference between players in silver, especially silver IV and V, is ridiculous.

If you want to get technical;

Assume you are not a smurf.

There are 4 chances for your team to roll a smurf. There are 5 chances for the enemy team to roll a smurf.

If youre talking purely on whether or not it should all even out in the end, thats what? 25% increase in chance the enemy team has to get a smurf over you?

Not that i really think smurfing is really an issue, but your statement doesnt really add up.

There's a 20% increased chance that the other team will have the smurf, yes, but there's also that increased chance on them having an afk or troll. Still levels out. My statement adds up perfectly well.

It is far more likely to have a troll/afk/feeder in game than it is to have an actual smurf.
