I'm not kidding when I say you made Swain next to unplayable. His q's slow has a shorter leash and is easier to walk out of, which has made the w infinitely harder to land when it was hard enough to land already, having found myself waiting a the full two seconds with them standing on the edge only to not get rooted, and now am more reliant on allied cc. The ult which is supposed to be his power-spike and moment to shine is now abysmal if he is in a 1v1, and while I understand the need more teamfight potential, if he cannot 1v1 and win his lane, how is he supposed to enter into a teamfight and make the best possible use of his ult.

I understand you could say "build spirit visage", but Swain is particularly good against assassins, AP but not AD, the SV is wasted on AD assassins like Zed and so he loses out yet again. Anyway I gotta go to work but more on this when I return.

What do you usually build? i know Rod of Ages is really helpful and to counter Zed you probably know Zhonya's. He is Tricky to play and situational but I hear he is better Top lane then Mid.

Swain requires bit more defensive stats than that to not die. This is why abyssal scepter is so great on him as well as zhonyas since they are both generally enough to keep him alive when his heal is factored in.

I don't know why people take swain mid when you could go top.
