Redemption active is a backwards reward system.
Bring on the downvotes, people. I know you want to!
Onto the main topic. Why does Riot believe giving supports access to an item active that provides not only HP, HP Regen, Mana Regen, and CDR, AND stronger shields needs the AoE heal ontop of 10% max HP true damage that can essentially be used to screw someone who did all the right things to take out said support and the ADC they are paired with. It feels like a giant "Fuck you and all your effort" item because that's essentially what it is due to the fact that it grants so many stats and allows the support to circumvent their death and still remain a contributing factor even if they fucked up and did something retarded.
If you're dead, you're dead, whether through your fault or because someone else made a stupid play, the fact remains that the time you spend waiting to respawn is the time you're supposed to spend forming a new plan of action, not taking more of said actions, especially in the late game where one might use this item as a last ditch effort to protect their Nexus, or use it to score an ace after a failed baron contesting. This item shits all over fairness solely because of that active.
This is ontop of the fact that the support's job isn't really to do damage, and if you want an AoE heal, we have Sona, Janna, Soraka, and even Nami to an extent for shit like that. Why the hell does the support need to be throwing out an AoE nuke down? Furthermore, what's the point of giving this item 400HP when clearly the purpose of this item is to help out healing supports who specialize in shielding, buffing, and debuffing? Lack of hp is how you balance those types of skills because utility support is supposed to rely more on the shields and heals to keep themselves and the ADC alive, not by being beefy.
has a dual functionality in order to promote decision making. do i want to aim it to hurt the enemy or help as many teammates as possible?
