and/or her Q heal.

I thought about that, but she'd just wander into the jungle and heal up and not need to actually get near the enemy to sustain her W costs. It'd be pretty broken.

Yep, it'd make solo lane Soraka an issue. It's why making her E work (thus improving her clear speed and kiting of camps by a lot) would be the best option.

Although I supposed you could also make it so it only applies if you KILL the jungle monster.

IcyPepper3 votes

I'm not sure.

I'd understand if the heal was slightly reduced just to make up the difference with her bad health regen, but I don't see it as any different than an ADC attacking a jungle camp for lifesteal. I mean, maybe? Just something to consider, I guess.

Imagine Soraka would just ask her jungle to not take Gromp/Krugs and just spam Q's on them. It's an on-demand easily-accessible heal. An adc has to invest at least 800 gold for lifesteal, so there is an actual trade off when buying lifesteal (also the lifesteal is weak without additional AA damage, which you most likely don't have because you already invested 800 gold into lifesteal, at least in the early game).

IcyPepper1 votes

Fair enough.

The reason I suggested it is that Soraka doesn't have great health regen, and if maybe the Q heal worked (but was halved or something?) it could make up her lack of good health regen without being overbearing. Q doesn't have the lowest (or highest?) mana cost ever, so continually spamming it on monsters wouldn't be worth it as a support if it's not healing enough.

And/or make it so it only works on big monsters, so you only get one tiny heal per camp instead of healing a lot at wolves versus gromp.

Just a little sustain that wouldn't benefit support Soraka is what I'm hoping for. Plus giving her sustain off her Q (as opposed to autos) could fuel the rivalry between 'Raka and Warwick :3

lol 800 gold is literally nothing.

That's half a item 1038 early game... It's literally something

Q heals based on number of targets you hit. So this would make midlane Soraka insane. Q on the Wraiths regularly, and you will always have capped off health.

Of course midlane Raka doesn't have to worry about heal costs too much. Unless of course the jungler is smart enough to swing by on a regular basis to be topped off, since he is surrendering Wraiths to her and all.

A constant mana/health available midlane, and a constant full health jungle... the other lanes will have to worry soon.

I did consider this on the next comment I had.

A lot of effects deal with big monsters and ignore the tiny ones, so the possibility is there, but yes allowing all of them to heal Soraka at once would be terribly OP (it's almost like runeglaive Ezreal...).

Maybe the E idea is enough, perhaps Q doesn't really need changes.

Also someone is salty, not you, but someone >.>

OyddAWqJ5r1 votes

Soraka's Q travels alot more slowly, allowing her to completely be clear of the area when the Q lands resulting in infinite healing whilst wandering through jungle.

Such a buff is completely unnecessary.

+1 ambulance is a thing that is needed.

Yes. Please. I want to steal baron with my E and laugh as their jungler can't smite <3

Actually, Smite doesn't get blocked by silences. Flash and TP are the only summoners that do.

The more you know.

Jungle Soraka's ganks are upside down. She roam exactly as if she was in the opposing team looking for an easy kill. She target HER teamates and she un-damage them. It's totally upside down, but once you wrap your head around those anti-gank they turns out to be just as potent as a normal gank on a normal jungler. And they have the added benefit to be executable no matter the position of the wave or the enemy champion.

Lol no. She can't even heal herself while jungling.

Just got to have the right jungle build :3

Not many junglers have sustain, that isn't the issue.

Which junglers don't have sustain, again? Sustain is healing, shields, increased armor or MR, damage mitgation of some kind or another. Pantheon ONLY became a jungler after his W was changed to work on monsters because of how important sustain is.

Wrong. Sustain is healing - shields, increased armor or MR or damage reduction are not sustain, they're damage mitigation.

And that is still very much necessary to jungle. If Amumu didn't have free damage off getting hit from monsters, or Shyvana didn't have free armor and MR from level 1, or Rammus didn't get 120 armor and MR by clicking a button, then these champions would have a much harder time ganking early than they do.

JedenVojak1 votes

Mmmm, you have a point.

It was much better pre-rework because she had a heal + mitigation with her old heal, and she was much better at clearing camps with her old Q. She just was more of a counter ganker than a ganker proper.

Soraka would have speed. She doesn't actually have sustain issues currently either with purple smite and runeglaive. With E working on minions she'd take almost no damage.

You do not need innate sustain mechanics to jungle, look at Evelynn.

Lol wut. Evelynn? The champion they had to change the entire Smite summoner spell over because she couldn't survive her first two clears? That's the champion you want me to look at as a shining example of you not needing sustain to jungle?

Back when the jungle was completely overhauled and made to be much stronger, Evelynn was getting completely destroyed so Riot had to make Smite hold up to 2 charges so Evelynn could actually survive her clears.

That's not why they included 2 charges lol. The reason they included 2 charges was because saving smite for combat felt terrible. So instead of planning out your ganks a whole min in advance you could hold on to one charge.

Soraka's main weakness at a pro level is her shitty roaming. What exactly would she do in a gank?

Soraka has two abilities that cannot be used against jungle monsters. Getting access to at least one of them in the jungle would be a massive buff to her jungle clears.

The two options for doing this are to either make W's passive (which is her Q heal) work on large monsters or to have E deal damage to monsters. E damage would be a lot healthier for her jungle because let's face it, what are you using Soraka in the jungle for? She isn't going to have much gank presence due to her lack of damage and reliable hard CC (in terms of preventing movement), and if Soraka has fast clears (she might actually get some ridiculously fast clears with the E change; she already 2-shots the small raptors with a level 1 Q when she hits with the center) she can't convert anything out of those fast clears.

Instead, she would likely clear camps, then go to her lanes and heal her allies. She ganks by giving her allies more health to win their lane and counterganks by giving her allies enough health to survive the gank, but she sacrifices health to do this.

Giving her infinite health sustain with using her W passive on Q and infinite mana sustain with Runeglaive would let Soraka do this indefinitely, while E usage on monsters would at least gate it to when she starts running out of health after a couple clears and she doesn't have ulti anymore.

Personally, I would really like for Soraka to be a good jungler. I think she's really fun as a support, and she would have this really interesting niche as a jungler that provides lane pressure by buffing her laners.

I just want the e to work on minions in general, even if it only does 1/2 damage and doesnt snare, the fact that it does no damage at all is sad

Linna Excel1 votes

If you want her to be a jungler, then large jungle monsters including baron and dragon need to trigger the self heal on her Q.

No thanks -- the less of Soraka I see the happier I am. Just not a fun champion to play against at all, even if she's not overpowered.

she would still be unable to properly gank
