Why Sion Mid is actually good

You know that situation where your toplane locks in Yasuo, your Support picks Brand or Zyra, and your Jungler picks Yi?

Feelsbadman. Wish you had a tank huh?

SION. MID.

Hate those poke mages and shitty new assassins?

SION. MID.

Wish you were an undead juggernaut in order to mow down all cowards and leave nothing but blood and bones in your wake?

SION. MID.

In all seriousness though, Sion Mid is a great way to round out a squishy team comp, and is especially good into a lot of the meta mages and popular assassins at the moment.

E max Sion allows you to match the poke of mages like Annie and Viktor early game, and because they're immobile it makes landing your entire combo a cinch if they don't save CC.

Assassins, however, are harder to hit. BUT, assassins like to kill things. It's kind of hard to assassinate a fat tank, dontcha think?

Here's what I'm getting at. Pick Sion Mid in a normal game tomorrow. Disregard the matchup, play it like so.

Go either 12/18/0 or 0/18/12 with Thunderlord's. Take the mana regen mastery as well as biscuits, the rest is really up to you. Start Doran's Ring into ranged, Corrupting Potion into melee. Max E, constantly shove minions down the enemy laner's throat. If their CC/Interrupt is on CD, feel free to hit that slowed fucker with a fully charged Q, detonate your W, and walk away. All you'll take is minion damage.

Clear waves easy by E'ing the first minion as it walks up right through the whole wave, then kill them all with a fully charged Q and your W.

Bait dives with W shield and your CC abilities, make sick roams and plow down the cowards in botlane with your ultimate.

Enemy laner give you a funny look? Hit 'em with E and then run your ass facefirst into them for free, and stunlock them with Q for like 10 years.

Build? Fat tank. Real fat. Hexdrinker rush into AP if ahead, Visage if behind. Jaurim's Fist into AD if ahead, Frozen Heart if behind. Round out your build with 40% CDR from FH, Visage, and either Maw or Warmog's? I don't know, just eat up that damage. Frozen Mallet to punch bitches when you die, situational boots.
