Play Garen against something who actually can and you'll get stomped hard. Perfectly managing waves while still using as much autos as possible is something that doesnt really have a cap.

You'd need a zero ping, perfectly coded and trained AI with perfect resource management to reach that cap. And than we still haven't talked about macro play.

Until that AI exists there'll always be a Garen outskilling you.

How does it apply to Overwatch? There's not really any such thing as an unlimited skill cap, because champions/heroes are designed with specific strengths and weaknesses, and once you've mastered how to make efficient use of the champion/hero, you've pretty much hit the skill cap. There are fluctuating play styles that may change based on the meta, but that doesn't mean the skill cap is increasing. It's kind of pretentious to claim such a thing as an unlimited skill cap.

oh ok i just see the words unlimited skill cap alot in forums. thats why i ask.

Yeah, it's just poser bullshit. You can't keep learning and gaining skill on a champion with a finite amount of abilities and combinations, so there is absolutely no such thing as an unlimited skill cap.

does sylas have a higher skill cap or hes limited based on enemy team. in spotlight it says he can adapt any teamfight into his favor. (any being the keyword here)

OP, I think the closest to that is probably Ivern or Azir. Kalista as CrazyMonkeyCZ said is a good answer, as well, but Ivern and Azir seem like they have an infinite well of options available, that every game is going to be different and can always be played "better".

Darius Top Annie Mid Elise Jungle Tristana Zyra Bot

I dont think sylas can do much to win this team fight ... It's not hard to win it if you have any MR/item 3194 but he's not going to do much with any of their ults. Maybe Elise, haven't tested how well he uses Spider form. The execute is nice, maybe Rappel as well, but no spiderlings/2 spiderlings. Could probably find a jungler who's ult he REALLY cannot use.

Theoreticly? No. But as human, we can't learn everything and we can't calculate everything perfectly like machines. So relatively, there is always something you can get better in LoL so you can say it is "unlimited".

One of the hardest champs, Kalista, is good exemple, look at some dia+ replayes, these guys look like they are scripting with their passive moves.

Skillshot dodging, overall macro, warding, many champs etc. there is always something to get better at and we could create huge list of things.

There always room for improvement but I would say yes to reach the the "skill cap" it would require you to play the game and champion perfectly every game which obviously never happens.

So I would say yes there is since the cap is impossible to reach

Having the incapability to reach something does not mean that that point doesn't exist. For instance, humans know Jupiter exists in our solar system, yet we cannot reach it and get humans onto the planet. Jupiter in that sense is beyond our limitations, but it is not a non-existing point in all of everything that can never be reached. An unlimited skill cap would be a skill cap that does not exist - hence "unlimited," or "being without a limit." So in the case of Tracer or anything in a video game, they have a skill cap, even if the majority of people can't reach it - and even then, reaching a skill cap does not mean being perfect every game, it just means showcasing the skill needed to use that champion at maximum efficiency. You can show the absolute most skill with something and still do badly if your opponent is good at anticipating your actions and shutting you down before you get to where you need to go - that's not a reflection on your lack of skill with the champion or hero, it's more of superior tactics on behalf of your enemies.

true its more about reading your enemies sometimes that defeats efficiency.

BrightWîngs1 votes

Reaching Jupiter isn't impossible we just havnt gotten to that point yet this analogy is more on the level of a bronze player wanting to reach challenger seems impossible but it's not.

Playing the game and champion to complete perfection every game is 100% impossible humans are humans and will make mistakes but you misread or misunderstood my point being there is a cap but since the cap is so impossible to reach makes it as if it were unlimited.

more mobility -----> higher skill cap

for like 99% of the playerbase

xDogMeatx1 votes

thats true but there is also skill cap at being at the right spot as a slower champ.

everything has a skill cap, and not everyone will hit that skill cap because humans are imperfect. saying something has "unlimited" skill cap has to be one of the most pepega thing i have ever heard in my life. especially for tracer who still can get 1 shoted by a skilled widow anyway.
