What's wrong with that? It fits her perfectly, don't you think?
Mmm, fits her theme very well.
A charm on an assassin still sounds terrifying though, I love it.
Ahri has a charm is a mage-assassin, granted she is more ranged mage than assassin, but still. Rakan is essentially a support-assassin and he gets a charm.
Thematically, yes. But charm is about the most powerfull cc effect we have(stun+displacement towards you/you're team), throwing that on an assasin that also has stealth mechanics might not be a great idea. I for one remember the S1 days when she had a stun, and hard cc out of stealth is **very **frustraiting to play against.
I think that they have considered this while designing her and that it has some sort of counterplay.
For example she is marking you and then has to land x amount of auto attacks against you or something. It surely won't be an immediate charme out of stealth. There will be some kind of delay and counterplay.
Not sure if i can share that optimism Anyway, if it's a delayed mechanic that can't be used as opener, it then fails thematically again. The idea is that she lures you in with her sweet innocent appearance and then goes all murder mode on you. It would make little sense that she first goes all savage and then you get charmed by that...
Reveal page is up and you can be relieved. Her charm does have counterplay and a delay built in. ^^ No instant charm out of stealth for her.
its on a 2.5 seconds delay and cannot damage you until the charm ticks in, otherwise it is only a slow.
I'm not seeing the issue.

Assassin with hard cc is usually an issue.

She used to have a stun and she was shit then, too.
Anything can be be underpowered, overpowered, or balanced; numbers matter.
Nope, she used to be terror back with the stun. Her shit days came when the stun was replaced by a slow.
And whie one can be 'balanced' by numbers, beeing balanced by numbers does not neccesarily mean healthy gameplay, and her stun from stealth certainly wasn't healthy gameplay.

The charm has a delay and reveals her location to the target, so I think it will end up being much more fair to play against than current Eve, especially considering she has no stealth till 6.
That is not true and Azir/Kalista are the proof for that. If a kit unites the upsides of almost every class, you won't get that in a balanced state.
Look at Azir. His kit is simply not balancable since he has absolutely everything you could ask for. Range of an artillery mage. Damage of a dps mage. Mobility of a long range diver. Zoning of a control mage. Initiation potential of a vanguard.
There is no meaningful way to punish Azir.

Range can be nerfed with numbers changes Damage can be nerfed with numbers changes Mobility can ne nerfed with numbers changes Zoning can be nerfed with numbers changes Initiation can be nerfed with numbers changes
By nerfing his range (like they are currently doing with Azir), you are taking away a feature of his kit. In my book, reducing the range from artillery level to battlemage level is not "just a number change". It is completely changing his playstyle.
Otherwise, the same argument can be made for the assassin with CC case. Sure, he can be balanced. We just have to change the number of the cc duration to 0 seconds. Just a number change, isn't it?

Indeed, though it doesn't necessarily have to be 0. It could be .5 or something else as needed.
Seems like my type of champ : )
The days when eve had cc, now we are back! lol
It's pretty delayed though. She's not gonna point and click stun from stealth like she used to be.
first off hysterical gif. secondly don't quite a few assassin junglers have hard cc?
