Why have we been balancing Ezreal as an adc all these years instead of as a caster?

Let's be honest here, Ezreal isn't an adc. Adc damage comes mainly from auto attacks, but Ezreal's power comes from his spells. I feel like if we started to balanced Ezreal as a mid laner he would be healthier overall. How do you do this? Well, all you really need to do is lower his base ad, then bot lane Ezreal will no longer be viable. Then you can start putting more power into his abilities and lower his mana costs and cooldowns. Stop trying to balance Ezreal for bot lane. Let him be the caster he was designed to be.

The fantasy of Ezreal is that his Q is his autoattack. By spending mana and actually needing to aim his attacks, he gains extra damage and range. His kit and playstyle as a caster-style marksman is iconic to Leauge. It's not going anywhere.

"ADC" is simply "attack damage carry". The only requirement is to do a large amount of sustained, physical damage. Ezreal does that.

No, an adc is a champ who's damage comes mainly from ranged auto attacks. But Ezreal's damage comes mostly from his spells.

What? Ezreal has been one of the most consistent adcs in the game like he is pretty healthy on average and the reason he is really good right now IS BECAUSE OF HIS AP scaling.
