it means she's gonna burn through mana like crazy while slinging around even more mediocre spells.

does this mean i CAN PLAY THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE :DD

It means what it sounds like it means.

IcyPepper4 votes

What does this mean?

Crescendo (R) passive effect now reduces the base cooldown of Sona's basic abilitiy by 20/40/60% instead of increasing the potency of Q/W/E

Dedrius4 votes

The guy who plays Mid sona is gonna love this.

I better start trying it.

So who is the kog'maw of spell casters, Sona or Ryze?

MisterShameless3 votes

Cassiopeia maybe or kog maw himself since he can be both ap and ad

Penta Penguin4 votes

Well Kog'maw breaks the attack speed cap, Sona breaks the CDR cap. Kog'maw himself is stuck with the standard CDR

I take it to mean it reduces the cooldown on which further item/rune/masteries CDR is calculated. To put some numbers with it, the new Q cooldown is 10 seconds.

At level 1 with 10% CDR, the cooldown is 9 sec (10 sec * 1.0 * 0.9). At level 6 with 0% CDR, the cooldown is 8 sec (10 sec * 1.0 * 0.8). At level 6 with 10% CDR, the cooldown is 7.2 sec (10 sec * 0.8 * 0.9) . At level 11 with 30% CDR, the cooldown is 4.2 sec (10 sec * 0.6 * 0.7). At level 16 with 30% CDR, the cooldown is 2.8 sec (10 sec * 0.4 * 0.7). At level 16 with 45% CDR, the cooldown is 2.2 sec (10 sec * 0.4 * 0.55).

i already tested her in a bots game, at lvl 16 with 45% cdr she looks pretty similar to URF sona, her Q,W and E were in a 2.2 sec cd, basically i could permaspeed my team, poke and heal at the same time every 2.2 sec. BUT VERY MANA DEPENDANT

Bisaknosp2 votes

garbage changes she will heal for 3 health late game

BleedingPluto1 votes

I like this idea... think about it. Makes her more consistent rather then instances of power that take you by surprise

What does this mean?

Up to +60% cool-down reduction for Sona from her ult.

Quepha1 votes

Base cooldown of Q and W drop to 4 seconds base cooldown of E drops to 4.8 seconds.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

This means a possible 78% CDR. I'd imagine that they'd want to make Power Chording through aura's the main niche of her kit. I like the idea but they'd have to balance her spells to make it not too overwhelming.

"ah, for anyone asking, the cooldown effect on sona's ult -does- stack with cdr. so with those numbers she could effectively cap at 78% cdr"

Hellpyre1 votes

Shouldn't it be a possible 76%

EDIT - nevermind, forgot the extra 5% from masteries

TNHA Baritone1 votes

Where did he even get fucking 78 from? I dont even know explain it to me?

I just copied and pasted and linked the source.

Stacking 45% with 60% separately

Or you can calculate the 60% first then calculate 45% bam

Literally URF Sona.

I'm a little worried about what this means for her mana problems. She already suffers greatly from mana usage. Now that they are nerfing the base effects of each basic spell in order to compensate for spam-ability without reducing mana costs... This is potentially an overall nerf.

But I do like this direction!

Penta Penguin2 votes

Wait a minute, if she gets so much free CDR does she now have room to itemize more heavily towards mana?

LankPants1 votes

item 3165 and item 3100 are items, so the two really aren't mutually exclusive. You'll probably see Sona's itemise towards Tear to offset some of the mana costs if these changes go through however.

Tear and IBG, I'd say.

LankPants1 votes

IBG multiplies base AD, if your AD is terrible, like bottom 5 in the game you probably shouldn't. I like Tear, but I'd buy it in addition to LB and Morrello's.

Is actually a shift of power spikes.... all of her CD were increased by 2 sec so it means that early game she won't be able to spam his abilities but late game (when you hopefully have some mana rehen) she will be able to spam them more often than what you currently do

HadesBlades1 votes

So now instead of 10 second Q at rank 3 for her ult it will be six seconds base then it can be reduced after that by cdr even more. So her heal will be up like evey 3 seconds now.Just hope they fix her sustain issues in the support update and itemization update with it.

Miraweave1 votes

Basically her earlygame isn't bullshit anymore, but she'll scale absurdly well. ~2 second cooldown on her Q and W if you max CDR.
