I kind of wonder about Zed
How mad would everyone be if he had his old ult. Where he literally threw a shadow in to kill people and they called that no risk back then. I mean now people are "Hurr a durr he can run. NO RISK!".
Honestly I have both played as and against Zed a lot. He isn't as bad as people make him seem. OFC a lane bully is going to get fed if you go aggro when he has his abilities up. The lane is a pure reactionary lane. You wait for him to use his shadow for damage then go in on him or poke him or whatever you need to do as long as you don't overextend yourself.
The Zed problem stems for mana regen nerfs not from him being strong. He was perfectly fine before the pre-season. He struggles hard against AoE CC and on target CC. And people with blinks destroy his ult when timed right. Even flash can make his ult null if you time it right. He will go in throw his entire combo at nothing and then have to retreat now having blown more than likely ult all of his abilities and ignite.
It doesn't really help that it seems like no mid laners can reliably stick to him anymore due to lower mana overall. I have had extreme success with taking comps that have really high amounts of CC lately and Zed is just utterly destroyed by it like Yi. But everyone's like but Yi isn't hard to kill. Yi has invinci frames that are much worse than Zeds while being pretty spammable.
I feel like their is extreme bias on the forums. You call out Zed and I call out Yi. Why? Because they both take extreme coordination to take down, but at least with Zed once his 3s of power are up he dies or runs for his life. Yi has a 15s power window with a Ghostblade to make it longer and a Q to lower his weak points and a heal and damage reduction to force you to blow cc on him.
Until Mid lanes gets it shit together I wouldn't try to call out mana less champs. That's how you get what is happening to kata on the PBE a 3s frame on her that she is reliant on instead of a 15s.
