I need help from Hecarim players

I recently bought Hecarim and played jungle but i know im not playing him the best i could. I know you need movement speed quints but i cant afford that rn. Any tips overall on him? such as jungle clear paths, best mastery tree? combo to use when ganking? ( I ghost into E and try to come from behind.) I know you can rush item 3078 before your smite item if playing decently but what if ur behind ? thanks.

EDIT: my clears also feel really slow compared to other jg's.

You want to go tank/ bruiser. Hecarim is meant to be in the fray of fight. Any masteries that help him survive are good. I would also suggest any masteries that increase speed in river. Cinderhulk or warrior enchantment jungle item.
