That. That is what's wrong with ranked. I've squashed people who were in Diamond. I've also gotten my ass handed to me by bronze IV's. So, it's not a reliable measure of skill. What it does reliably measure is how much time a person is willing to waste playing with worthless pieces of shit in order to rank up. It's not fun. It's not challenging. It's skull-fuck boring, and the hamsters who think it means something? You're just too dim to know when you're in a wheel.
