I honestly love the assassin rework BUT...

After intense playing on PBE, and last 2 days on new patch in normals, rankeds in multiple divisions here is the conclusion - HOW IS RENGAR NOT FIXED YET A MOTHERFUCKING GAIN. FOR FUCKS SAKE!!! I hate this fucking champion, I hate him. He is the definition of shit design, not overloaded like Yasuo, but just shit. You got a kill early? Enjoy making a 100% kill every time you have ulti, or god forbid somebody walked near the bush where you are sitting. You didnt get many kills at the beggining? Enjoy being a useless piece of shit that just cant assassinate anyone at any point in the game. But with this rework, chances of not getting fed early are even less now. How the fuck can this not be fixed AGAIN, rework after rework and his gameplay stays the same shit, 1 shot without any reaction time, any counterplay, now also has a cleanse because of reasons and feels a lot tankier than before, but when not fed, cant even assassinate bad player or really squishy carry without summs because of how retarded and clunky this new ulti is. I am soooo dissapointed, other reworks hit the mark more or less, they even put in the "reworks" to nerf some of the toxic/badly designed assassins like Akali, Fizz, Shaco and Ekko, untill they decide what they will do with them and its a great move honestly, everyone hates them except their mains (but still Yasuo remains cancer, but not "reworked" because of huge playerbase, same favoritism shit as with Lee for years), but why couldnt you finally make Rengar feel like a balanced and healthy champ, if you couldnt do it with his current "identity" just screw his kit and make him really similar to Kha who is a perfect example of a healthy assassin hunter type. I am so dissapointed honestly, you should have tried something else RIOT...

Maybe it's because it was one game, but I actually find Rengar fine.

Rengar got really fed up to mid, but we were able to catch up and kill him late. His delayed burst gave enough time for an ADC to react, but it still killed Ezreal when he was too far caught out.

I'm sure I'll need to experience other games, but so far the assassins aren't weak.

Except for Katarina. But I only saw her fighting a top lane Yorick so I didn't expect her to actually do much.

Rengar in both team. One fed the other not really. Both one-shot everybody. Ironically Kata was the weak one here.

Ok. The main difference (beyond that kill count. Holy shiy) is that that Rengar went glass cannon damage while the one I fought ended up building bruiser to survive longer.

Looks like both matches took a long time to finish as well. Did you all have trouble ending? Mine was pretty back and forth.

AD rengar in the jungle is really strong. he sustain is really massive. but in lane, he sucks hard unless you build tanky. mainly for AP rengar tho. his passive ult and W got nerfed based on his playstyle.

Rengar top is not bad, nor do you have to build him tanky lol. You can legit do 60% of sm1s hp on the first jump if you have the right masteries.

that was before the rework. with this rework, you cannot keep ferocity off combat. so you can't go in with empowered while throwing bolas on the minions/poke. his W heals based on the damage received, has no base heal. this means if you are low, you will continue to be low. you cannot properly sustain trough his W in lane. this hits rengar a lot because, he was already weak vs champions like pantheon/darius. now he is even weaker? I guess that bonus health regen they added will have to suffice ¬¬

His hard lanes are def harder to sustain through, but his strong lanes are even stronger than before. You can easily win a Rengar vs Riven match up now as an example.

true but to be honest I rarely lose lane vs "easy" lanes. but I almost always get rekt vs darius or similar champions. so they making this worse, is basically making rengar top a niche pick, which sincerely sucks :/ im a renga otp well tank rengar is going to be the next tank ekko xD

I actually like Rengars new ulti. The mindgames when the mark is over your head makes it feel like your in a fucking monster movie. Rengar is still a bitch, but I feel more like i got caught out when he gets me now.

Until he gets 5 stacks , then it feels like shit, lol.

But i guess that is our fault for letting him get that far?

Largely, I think his ability stack necklace is going to be dependent on how easily he can each target. (In that sense, he could end up a pub stomper.) But if Rengar was on the table, you wouldn't want to draft say a glass cannon team comp.

What is the difference between old rengar and new rengar? None , Rengar still buy IE.

However , new rengar now have guaranted crit on his next attack when pressing R meaning he can forget about shiv and still OS with IE+ full AD build. Yeah , you'll be a crisp , but still doing your job by suppressing squishies.

They should just make him a skirmisher/ligh fighter and go with his hunter archetype. Make him track, control jungle, leave marks that inform him about enemy presence or even some bait mechanic... His assassin side will never be a good design.

Personally I love the new rengar ult functionality. I was playing a game where I was Vi jg vs him and other assasins so I went mostly tank, and when he ulted I would look around to find his "target" and then position myself near them making me the new target since I can survive the burst or he has to walk past me to get my poor adc. It felt really cool and like I was a professional bodyguard or something so in that sense I loved being able to do this against rengar where before you either had a pink ward or watched your mage/adc explode.

That said his damage is off the charts. I built fairly tanky but still was finding myself getting shreaded by him during fights. Maybe I needed another armor item (i only got 1 and a half complete armor items since I had to also build MR for the katarina and LB) so its something to definitely keep an eye on.
