Why are we removing double tear completely and not nerfing Ezreal?

Double Tear is a complete late game build that nerfs your early game significantly. It takes forever to stack this stuff up and you should be awarded with the appropriate late game. So why are we removing freedom of choice instead of nerfing the champion abusing it?

Please show me literally one more champion that had a double tear build realistically. Not even Ryze, a champion who scales heavily with mana doesn't build double tear often.

Because realistically nobody ever builds those two items?

Ezreal is one of if not the fastest stacker of Tear and benefits heavily from both items due to his strong AD and AP scaling ratios. He abused both and at the very least his interaction should've been nerfed. Honestly though, it doesn't really matter since nobody else would ever build those two items together.

It would depend on how the nerfs would’ve been done, and if it would’ve been satisfactory. It’s highly possible that any nerf Riot did just made Ezreal rely on double tear to be useful, which wouldn’t feel good either.

It’s reverse of what they did back with Cinderhulk. When Cinderhulk was strong, Riot hit the champs first, then the item, and many of the champs that were nerfed because of it were then terrible since they were double nerfed.

At least with this way, AD Ezreal and AP Ezreal can still function without being forced to build double tear. Plus, Maybe it shows there’s some value on other potential Tear items, like a defensive or a hybrid one, without them all growing stronger off of each other.

Ezreal is the only champion that builds double tear and nerfing Ezreal would pidgeonhole him into playing double tear.

I mean, no one else went double tear but Ezreal so it might as well be a direct nerf to him. Unless you're going some troll shit I doubt you'd take it on anyone else.

They nerfed Ezreal's late game just after the wave of buffs which made hyper carries strong again. It's obvious they want a hyper carry meta, and don't want Ezreal to stomp them with a 1 shot that is outside of their effective range.

Albeit, this simultaneously made him horrible in solo q due to the fact that he requires a team built to win in his dominant mid-game phase. Sadly, because he is performing fine in pro leagues, he probably won't get a buff to make it easier to capitalize on his snowball potential. I still play him though, cause the fun is worth it.
