Now that they've seen play: What can the new Assassins now do that Riven, Wukong and Annie can't?

Maybe it's just me, but "An assassin with a longer kill window" still sounds like it would be a worse version of one of those 3 with less utility.

Unpredictable ways of getting to the target. Oh wait, Wukong has stealth.

Ok, full AD Wukong mid is the new meta.

Honestly? I could see it. Probably better than Talon mid tbh.

It probably would just scale better because Talon isn't that great late game.

Honestly with the fighter rework we'll probably see them lose some burst to get more sticky, leaving assassins to be heavy burst champions.

They can lose more! Talon is so bad now people dont even remember him when they talk about how the new assassins are in a good spot.

That's cause when he fights against MR mids, all the talon's I've seen don't build MR. Please prove me wrong on that.

Most dont. Most of the problems come from his new mechanics. The fact that almost every mage can laugh at your Q and that your W is just too long a delay to get the 2nd proc is a lot of the issue. Edge of night is okay but once teamfights roll around you just kinda flop to any cc.

the problem is not in lane Talon's laning phase is much better now but with less poking potential the problem is post 20 min he starts to fall off really hard and most champions could run him over if he's not over fed. not to mention his weak team fighting.

I highly doubt the problem with any champion is just "Their player base doesn't itemize right." There's so many matches that go in to winrate statistics it would be hard to decipher though.

Honestly now that the assassin updates have had time to stew they are all pretty much in a good spot right now besides for eve, ones like katarina, rengar are waay to strong and kha is only slightly strong.

But by that logic that's half the assassins not in a good spot.. XD

.... it is a good spot, for assassins and assassin mains

"High mobility, very high target selection." Riot's said multiple times that this is the major differentiator between assassins and burst mages.

Even if Annie builds protobelt, then she has worse mobility than any assassin's native kit. Riven's target selection is trash. Wukong is the closest of the three to an assassin that you mentioned, but falls short to assassins in both of those areas as well. Not necessarily every assassin, of course. They're not a homogeneous blob. But WK has one medium range enemy-targeted dash with a nontrivial cooldown and no resets on it. That's situationally better than Rengar, but that's about it.
