Why is Trundle becoming popular again?

Did I miss something? Why is he constantly support, moreso than top even? Did I miss Faker going support trundle bot or something? (sarcasm)

Contrary to popular belief, instead of tanks being killed by the preseaon a few of them came back into flavor. And since Riot deiced to go ahead a nerf armor pen with the preseaon tanks started to become really hard to kill. So it was only a matter of time before the guy who steals tank stats became FoTM again.

As to why he is being played support ¯_(ツ)_/¯

because tanks are the strongest right now, he can easily steal stat from the tanks and become unkillable.

and his pillar is broken, its cd is short enough that once the old pillar sinks the cd is already over, the blockade potential of his is very strong.

Grasp of the Undying is really fucking good. It allows tanks to become legitimate threats.
