Why people go sight stone on a jungler these days? What is the advantage? What do you get out of it? Why not just get tracker's knife?

Someone explain this, I see streamers do it, I see pros do it, and I just can't wrap my head around it. There is a jungler item in the game that does almost the exact same thing, so why waste an item slot on the sight stone? What stat/scaling/whatever advantage do you get by building sight stone over trackers knife?

Personally, I'll continue to build Tracker's knife until I get a damn good explanation as to why sight stone is better.

On some JNG, Building a SS allows them to build Stalkers or Skirmishers without losing the Vision Control of Trackers. SS isn't a bad item, though building it before finishing JNG item doesn't seem very wise.

With that said, I'm no expert. There may be a good reason I'm unaware of.

Thats the point I guess. If you need blue or red smite really badly, and your support doesnt buy a sighstone (which happens way too often to me) then your team has at least 1 guy warding. Beside that, sightstone gives you 1 more ward. Sure, the yellow trinket gives wards too, but sweeping lens is better imo if u already have excess to wards.

well first, regular sightstone gives and extra ward, ruby sightstone adds yet another ward so you have more wards to use than when you simply had the trackers knife. Second, pros build it because the environment they play in is hugely different from the one we play in. We play in an environment where people do not care whether or not you put down vision or are unable to take full advantage of it. Pros on the other hand will always be communicating everything to their teammates and most of their decisions are made based around the amount of vision they have available. The more vision you have the stronger you are in a team coordinated environment vs in SoloQ where having more power is almost always the winner

So is that to say that those of us in solo queue may not find a reason to build this way? No REAL advantage in a solo/duo queue environment?
