"positive" player/ Friendly attitude

Id Like to make a post on something that is bugging me with the rewards (and overall goal) of Riot trying to make a "Friendly and positive community". My issue is this: I try to be positive and friendly when I can yes, but most of the time Im neutral or don't notice the small things.

Now lets break this down, When I play a game, I play competitively (I play ranked for the most part) So I play to win, not to be nice. Now Heres the issue with that, for me thats just my personality in life and in league, If something goes wrong that could have been prevented, I normally let the player (or person) know what they did wrong, why it was wrong and how they could have and should prevent it in the future. This leads to a wall of sorts when it comes to being positive or friendly. When I tell the player what they did wrong... they take offense to it as if im being toxic (IE: I'll say "Hey morg you should have been there with us for that fight you should not have been top" morg will read "wtf this morg top fucking noob feeder doesnt group report morg pls GG" and she will start to flame me.

Now the problem occurs, Even if we win or said player doesnt flame me, in the end Im not considered "friendly or positive" and that is just my personality. I play the game one minute at a time analyzing the situation and running possible comebacks/throws/ways we might win/ways we might lose in my head , constantly checking other lanes, enemy and my teams farm, enemy and my teams items, and I try and tell my team what I think is the best strategy to win, and I dont say it like "Hey guys I think the best way we can win right now is to build some armor :) master yi is pretty OP lol lets get thornmail and we can win guys :)!" Thats not my personality type I normally will say something like "Guys right now master Yi has most of there kills because he ganked bot alot and they died, so we need to focus on getting armor such as a thornmail so we can come back from this" Im 'serious' I dont just play the game for fun I play to win.

so that brings me to the TLDR and question

What about the neutral serious players riot? Where are the rewards/compensation for the players whose personalities aren't outgoing or outspoken that aren't toxic and dont flame or feed or troll?

and the second question When will there be a clear set of rules/guidelines that determines true toxic behaviour and not just somebody taking to much offense to a serious comment such as "Mid please stop feeding/dying"/ "mid please ward and stop overextending you are feeding" ? versus "/all omfg this noob mid 0/3 5 minutes in report this mid for feed GG" / "of course fucking noob mid is 0/3 already"

I just Have to say something about the second sample you gave. The main reason why people get upset about that kind of thing is because they probably already know what they did wrong.

Take me for Example, I'm not great at the game, I play it for fun. I've had people like you tell me what i did wrong. I'll take the suggestion in mind, but odds are i won't adapt to it right away because its not the playstyle i'm used to, but if i get told again, and i can sense the animosity, i'll get upset because I KNOW

Then theres the "Please stop dying and/omfg wat noob dis is!" Yeah the First one isn't really toxic because the player probably already knows he should stop dying and telling him will only enrage him. but at this point the enemy Rengar is fed and no matter WHAT you say its not gonna stop that snowball from tumbling down hill.

So really the best option when it comes to toxicity and such is to remember the age old saying, "If you got nothing nice to say.. don't say anything at all."

So really, unfortunately, This type of personality isn't gonna be rewarded by Riot mainly because it all depends on what kind of players your teammates are.

but somehow i feel i missed the point. Did I, OP?

no, you got the point very well, and that is my issue with these reward things, they cant change a person personality, and 9 times out of ten just becuase the enemy mid has 3 early kills doesnt mean they are a sure fire win, jungler can farm up and help while your mid turtles and stops dying, but the problem here is (mainly in bronze idk about higher elos) When I say "please stop dying mid" they get enraged not because they know they are feeding but they get angry at themselves because they think they can engage the fed team "sometimes they can depending on the champ" but then when they die for the 5th time and the enemy akali has 200hp left they start the "play a real champ fucking noob" or "play a champ that takes skill" and fail to realize that its not the enemy champ its the fact that they are refusing to turtle in order to get that one kill to satisfy their ego

Take for example my game I just played , Sona mid for one (I just didnt even bother) I was lee jungle and I died to wolves, so yeah I admitted that that was on my part for not being that skilled, but i also had to help nasus top to try and get him farmed up against a reksai, meanwhile bot they kept dying about 5 minutes in they were 0/10 total NOW I didnt say anything about bot lane but tristana kept bagging on janna for not turtling or going in all the time, trist was never toxic in my opinion and janna just never listened now I kept from being toxic, I told the enemy team GG to enjoy the win and said that i wasnt being toxic but I felt like i had the right to complain about How I wish I hadnt been paired with a sona mid, bot with bad players and a top that I had to 24/7 help

I never told them "stop fucking feeding you noobs" or anything with foul language but I sat there and thought "how can somebody be "nice" or "positive" about this game?" it wasnt fun and playing with those players was not fun and I didnt want to be nice to them because at the moment in my head I had burning rage wishing they would be dead of cancer NOW I never said that, but how can you be positive or nice with players like that or games that you lose like that?

And then sona flamed at me calling me a noob and baddie feeder toxic jerk even though I had done nothing, we had all fed and done bad but she blamed me?

How do we stop the false "butthurt" reports?

Now THAT is the question of the century. I wish I knew, for I've been in this boat as well. I think that's why they tried to implement the Tribunal system.. but I don't think its been up for a while. But as the wise man once said "Haters gonna hate."

I just wish that Riot realized that when your losing a ranked game because of an intentional feeder or sona mid or just bad players, you arent going to "happy" and "positive" youre going to be pissed and want to complain about it because losing sucks

the more you say the more ppl will take offense. this goes IRL as well as in league. in the workplace, you don't argue with your fellow employees. you either come to an agreement, agree to disagree, or write them up. You absolutely do not take place of management and start giving them orders on what to do. A league team is not a game between friends - that's a premade team. League teams in solo queue are like management consultants that don't know each other being put on the same project.

I say it once so they can try and be aware of mistake so they dont screw up (IRL or in league) because most of the time they arent aware they are fucking up, I dont give anyone orders, I just tell them "hey this would be our best option" and hope they listen, I try and lead and give advice. when they dont listen they fuck up 9 times out of ten and then result in flaming me for trying to make them aware they were fucking up

I think you just have to say it in a way that they feel like the come up with the solution, or give them options so they can make a decision. Since you're the same division as them, they view you as just as bad, or you wouldn't be playing.

With the morg situation, i most like would have said "Morg, we could have used your kit in that last battle. Your shield and CC are life savers in TFs". Pretty much all i did was acknowledge her strengths to our team while i was complaining of her lack of participation in the last fight.

Gotta make them feel like the do SOMETHING right when they are doing so much wrong so they are willing to play harder and bettter.

The only time people will listen to you is when you are carrying. The see a light at the end of the tunnel following you and hang on every word lol.

I learned that playing support. You make a couple of big plays and save your adc/team a few times, they'll follow your every move.

I agree that there should be other systems in place that acknowledge player behavior - and in ways other than just having other players hitting a +1 button post-game. I mean the Honor/banner system is nice in some ways. It is dependent on other players opinions and it gives you a way to say "Hey, good job" or "You were fun to play with" whether you win or lose. But as you said, it tends to be based more on personality (although they do have options for "Teamwork" vs "Friendly" in the honor) but basically the system has more to do with Player To Player interactions.

I've come up with a possible system that gives little 'achievements' or badges for completing different kinds of tasks or objectives, such as dealing the majority of the damage to structures or healing a large amount of health to teammates, as a way to acknowledge the ways players contribute that don't require their "approval" of you.

I've detailed my idea Here and I'd love to see what you think about it. I've been trying to get more feedback on the idea and I think its along these lines.

This post isnt so much as looking for rewards for it as much as it is why are neutral players constantly reminded and often forced to "say nice stuff or get reported"

There are personality types in the world not everyone is so happy outgoing or positive but they are forced to be that way in this game because riot thinks that only people who are extremely positive and happy even when they loose should be playing this game
