Suggestion: Enhance Leaver Penalties and Allow "Free Leave" idea in Case of Leaver

Enhance Leaver Penalties

Lately, leavers have just been an absolute nuisance when playing games. They rage quit and don't even bother returning simply because they can't turn the game to their favor, with help or not. This has been going on for a while now and today with the first two games of draft i decided to queue into. These players are disconnecting after the match starts by the way, they are leaving a few minutes into the match or midway through it. It's getting ridiculous and I honestly didn't want to suggest this, but i think it's necessary that this goes through so that game play can be improved.

My suggestion is too increase the amount of time a player is banned when leaving a match from 5 minutes to 15 minutes, convert it into a complete IP temp-ban so they can't switch to alternate accounts, and have it scale the more they leave, (15, 15, 15, 30, 30, 45, 60, ....). It's honestly ridiculous how many leavers I've encountered over the days I've been playing this, and i encountered at least 2-5 per the days I've played (this considers whether i play the game day after day, every other day, every so often)


Free Leave

Honestly, with more leavers being seen, I think it's fair to give the team that has a leaver a "Free Leave" option without penalty. This means if a person leaves, their team has the option to freely quit the match without a penalty so they don't get dragged down by them. It's not fair a team has to suffer through a match just because of one person. In the case the entire team does leave with this in mind, it's an automatic win for the other team.

The free leaver idea has been more or less suggested many times. It never will happen because players will abuse the hell out of it. Doing bad just means one player takes the hit while 4 take a free "loss" with out any downside. And the winning team is not immune to the downside of this either. Winning by a team "losing by teammate quitting" is not a good way to measure skill level. It makes boosting, skill manipulation, etc... easier since all you have to do is get the other team to have one player rage quit, so the rest can FF for free.

If anything this only will create a far more toxic environment where teams will gang up on one member to try and get them to rage quit. Especially with a single and a pair of 2-man premades, you can guess who gets all the hate once they start to lose.

Another thing, what if my power goes out for maybe 2 seconds during a wind storm? It takes maybe 30-40 seconds to get back in the game (for my PC at least). That is more than enough time for my team to quit. I could have even been dead for the entire time, but now I get the entire loss penalty for a game I still was able to finish without any downside for my short disconnect. Maybe the power didn't got out but I got some server disconnect, lag, or whatever. Nothing game costing but enough time to allow a team to quit, like 10 seconds.

They already have the 3 minute AFK remake in the game. That is likely all you can expect for this kind of thing.
